Underrated Vocalists

Chris Cornell - not sure if he's underrated as such, but never as bigged up as a lot of the less talented vocalists

perhaps not in the whole sceme of things but hugely respected in heavy rock circles.....possibly to the level of being overated ?

Few already mentioned...but

Corey Taylor
Chris Cornell
Miles Kennedy
Layne Staley

Miles Kennedy is overated if anything...

Paul Rodgers.

whey never in the world is he underated.

Dave Vanian..

Definately underated

Gene Simmons

Possibly....his vocals on the "unplugged" show him off well... but he could never be classed as a great singer surely ?

Aidan Moffat (Arab Strap) - I prefer a distinctive voice over someone who can sing very well.

I just bought her final recording LP, the incomplete one after Lady In Satin, as I've said many times, her voice had gone, but the pain of her life come through in every word.
That's exactly why I love it as well. How you can hear her pain through each word. My favorite collection still to this day is the Lady In Autumn: The Best of the Verve Years.
