The Living End. Big in Australia I believe, but barely heard of here. Chris Cheney should be seen as a guitar God.
Also Ben Folds Five (and Ben's subsequent solo work) are one of the finest bands the World has ever seen and they get/got surprisingly little attention in the UK.

It's always the groups that show a bit of ambition and try and do something different that get nowhere, such as The Fall, The Go Team, Campag Velocet to name but 3. Yet all the bland shit that do the same thing every album such as Coldplay and Elbow sell shit loads

two great songs of the 80s and they were massive over in The States. No follow up.
First album with Ran and second with Wishing should have kick started them into the real big time imo.
As a massive synth fan I always think that other bands became the household names that they should have been. Certainly like you say, here aswel as the states.

Crowded House were incredible.
Went to see Neil Finn at The Sage a few years back and it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to; his voice is still fantastic.
This threads interchangeable with the worst bands one
Might as well be 'Bands I Like' and 'Bands I Don't Like'.
Always excellent live! (or they were 20 years plus ago, not seen them for a fair while).
