Stiff Little Fingers - Now Then. Fans hated it but their most tuneful album for me.
The Clash - Sandinista! Hard to like instantly but it permeates over the years and you can discover something new with every listen.
The Pogues - Waiting For Herb - No one expected much after Shane left but half of this album is excellent, the other half okay.
Thought it was regarded as a classic? Certainly is in my book.

Add me to that list. Seed of Memory is one of my all time favourites.
Planet Waves was hammerd by the critics when it was released , up there with Dylan's best for me, The band were excellent backing.

This is a really nice album, Joe was the other half of Stealer's wheel and fine songwriter that never got the credit he deserved.

Concurred. Absolutely sublime, along with ‘Badman’s Song’.
Saw them on that tour, fourteen people on stage. Note perfect but still with a live feel. Class.

I think most of their albums are rated by those who know of them, but they're just not especially well known to 'the mainstream'. The early stuff with the female singer may be somewhat underrated I feel.

Sid Griffin used to get in my local to watch bands. None of us knew who he was.
The Dream Syndicate are back together and touring next year. Love the first two albums.
Heard the second now. love it.
Aye, new album came out late summer/early autumn. It's well worth a listen!
