Under the cosh podcast: Matt Kilgallon

Steve Bruce to Kilgallon. Signed on a 3.5 year contract, here 6 month then says he isn’t in his plans. Typical Sunderland that mind.

its hearing stuff like this that makes me think sooner or later we should be looking to get a director of football. some one like the lad from celtic would of been ideal

That makes sense, it’s the reference to Sunderland players buying ice creams, poster must’ve meant Swindon players.
in the pod kilgallon talks about it with safc players as well..

he says di canio told them osf they worked really hard that week he would look after them..

so at the end of the week they all arrive in their best gear..ready for a night out..and di canio says, "i told you i would look afer you and I will, and takes out ice creams.

think kildgallon said tommy miller told him same happened at swindon..

we had a director of football shortly after that happened..

the lad from celtic has never worked as a director of football a day in his life..
we should get an experienced and modern one..

What i was thinking is the type of players he was scouting, and i agree we should go for experienced and modern.

Was a funny podcast and he comes across alright, but there was clearly a bad drinking culture here during that time. Sounds like Kilgallon, Bardsley, Johnson, Graham, Fletcher were at least some of the culprits.

Couldn’t believe how long Kilgallon was with us, thought it wasn’t very long, sums Bruce up buying him 6 months before telling him he wasn’t part of his plans 🙄

When you think about some of the performances of those players you've mentioned it's hardly surprising . They were barely fit enough to last 45 minutes.

Jon Parkin (the fat lad) Chris Brown (striker for us and porn director iirc) and the bald one is some comedian.

Tommy Miller, Stephen Elliott, Nicky Weaver and Mark Crossley are all good listens.

More like porn commentator

'Ben's going for the fingers there...'

Listening to that bloke who took Watmore out when we played Wycombe this morning on the Guardian podcast, reckons there's loads training to become one

Wasn't an uncommon sight to see Johnson blowing out of his arse after 20 minutes when O'Neill was still here.

He was completely unfit, as was Graham and Fletcher. These are lads who aren't natural athletes, so had to work hard to be fit but were clearly just on the piss all the time.

Watched it all, hmmm, nice enough lad but not a professional in my eyes.
Di Canio had his expectations of his team, higher than theirs.
The drinking culture has ruined our club.

Exactly marra. Especially about Di Canio. So, we had a 'Monday Club' what Arsenal had under George Graham....difference is they turned up and performed.
