Starting my level 1 qualification on Monday anyone here ever done it? and if so got any tips for a newbie? ;)

My dad has done his and loves his umpiring. Not only do you get to umpire standard village cricket but opens doors into helping disabled cricket at local leisure centres etc.

Enjoy your course mate.

what dismissal style are you going for?

also make sure you do plenty of finger up.. then scratch your nose during appeals :lol:[DOUBLEPOST=1388849004][/DOUBLEPOST]this is a good one ;

Going with a high, straight finger pointing leaning towards the dismissed batsman. Won't be scratching my nose to turn down an appeal, that's just cruel :lol:.
