Udinese model? 9m worth of signings ousted after 6 months

Live and die by the sword. Obviously Graham was given the chance and didn't cut it.

Di Canio now has his players and team at his disposal and ultimately will be measured on that.
Can't see anything wrong with previous managers signings playing for PDC and doing well. Di Canio never signed Matt Ritchie, Caddis or Ferry at Swindon and were by far the best players at the Club. If you buy into his philosophy you are in. If you don't you are simply out.
Cross or fall out big time and you are on your way. Caddis went for allegedly falling out on a dietary issue.
Matt Ritchie and the majority of players PDC left behind said it was tough but he was a fantastic coach that improved them as players.

At least as Supporters you know you will get 100 per cent effort and ultimately that is what you want to see.

Caution 40 players in 18 months at Swindon. On the other hand as others have pointed out he wouldn't get away with this at Sunderland and I reckon he learnt from his mistakes.

If things were had concluded better we could have had a few of your kids on loan. Michael Reddy ( I think the name is correct) did us proud.
Don't think he has as much power with regards signings as he did at Swindon, De Fanti is the one who pretty much signs them with Di Canio giving him the nod.

You could have got Billy Knott perhaps, if he'd been Reddy (or Knott)......

Easy touch and no ambition beyond survival. Now, at last we have a genuinely ambitious manager who will not take the nonsense from players that his predecessors did. In addition he is prepared to roll up his sleeves and work like fury to make it all happen.

We should be thanking our stars we got him, and praising Ellis for making a carefully thought out decision after taking good advice. He resisted the temptation of hiring some hack from the Curbishley/Hughes etc stable.

If that means clearing up MON's mess and taking a short term financial hit (although I don't think it will be) then so be it.

This season is going to be GREAT.

here's hoping

Bloody ridiculous of the club to sanction either of those deals i.e. Graham and Alfred.

We can't be spending that sort of money, then deciding to fuck them off 6 months later. I don't give a shit who the manager is, it's very, very poor business.

"oh, oh we save money on wages" I hear you cry. Why f***ing sign them then?

MON signings being given the cold shoulder, it's nothing more than that. Petulance in the extreme.

Ask the manager who signed them. Do you have MON's email address, don't think he's doing much at the moment!

Its not your money, Ellis has sanctioned the hit, move on.

swings and roundabouts..we made 16m profit on henderson and a similar profit off bent..plus a huge huge return off mig so stop worrying

These are some of the rules of the parallel universe known as 'Football Manager Made Real'. O'Neill and Di Canio are both guilty of breaching them :-

PF Rule 286 - All players must be signed in strict order of priority

PF Rule 321 - The fees paid for incoming players must bear an exact correlation to the fees received for outgoing players, otherwise financial doom will inevitably follow

PF Rule 345 - SAFC should always demand and obtain the same fee as originally paid for a player, regardless of their form and performances whilst at the club

PF Rule 356 - SAFC must not 'have its eyes taken out' when buying a player

I've got a pair of shoes that someone else bought for me (but I had to pay for) but they hurt my feet and make me limp. Someone else thinks they will fit them and likes the look of them. But it would be petulant of me to let him have them, even though he's prepared to reimburse me for them. I could replace them with some made from better (Italian) leather, but I think I will continue to limp along.

Does that about sum it up, OP?

Nothing to see here...move on

Can't be arsed reading the thread.

Has somebody bothered to point out to the op that we've changed manager since January, not to mention the whole 'Udinese model' only began this summer?

Before replying to the op next time he posts this pointless drivel, its worth bearing in mind that hes got a shit pony tail for a haircut.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of this, imagine how pissed off you would be if you were Ellis Short, shelling out £9m on players only to discover that six months later those players are being written off and loaned out - OUCH!!

These threads have got to be wind ups, no sane person would post such utter drivel, lately its like every special needs school in Britain has suddenly been given access to the internet.

Let me spell it out for you and the other thicko's.

That's 9m spent, and maybe 1m back for loan fees, clever dick.

As ever, the SMB is never short of gob shites.

Why have an opinion of your own, when you can use someone else's....
