Two weeks to actually do something...

I started going in 1974. This is by far the longest unbroken period in the top flight since 1958 - thats nearly 60 years - its not all bad despite how much people on here want to make it out.
Exactly the same as me. These are halcyon days. 85-88 saw up go from top flight and a cup final to the third flight in hooligan infested crumbling stadiums. (From 100,000 at Wembley to 2,740 at Doncaster's dilapidated Belle View ground) My daughter was born the day we lost 4-0 at home to Aston Villa in front of 12000 at Roker. In May 85. We average almost 4 x that number in the last 3-4 shitty years.

That might explain why I'm not bothered as much as some as have seen a whole lot worse shit over the decades. All about perspective, in my case anyway.

We won't be mate, look at the performance at the weekend, look at Hull's squad and them picking up a result. We'll be organised and we have players like Kone, Kirchoff and Defoe that most other teams outside the top 6 would love in the side. 1 or 2 good signings and look O.K imo, no better than that though.
You can't compare us to Hull  they're the worst ran team in the club, have you seen their current squad?

Secondly, do we know that Kone is definitely staying? Kirchhoff is currently crocked and one injury to Defoe and we are royally fucked.

Definitely - additionally you could use this board and look back at every single window and see panic posts. I know its not where we want to be but the posts on here saying 'we'll get relegated' are a bit pathetic. I wonder if these people are like that about problems in their real lives. Do they react with the same sort of panic at every single setback?

Moyes knows more about footy than most of this board put together. He is aware of every single concern you raise and will have a plan.

Short term we'd have Borini, Watmore and the young kid.

Of course we need another proven forward before the window closes.

None good enough

Defoe stops us getting relegated for me, simple. As much as I like some of the other players.

No Larsson, No Cattermole. Kirchoff a doube. Kaboul off.

Sorry but even short term we have problems.

Without Defoe we'd be lucky to finish 19th.

Here's hoping 3 teams are worse than us.

We have done something you f***ing tart. We've shipped out a lot of dross, brought in an £8m central defender and two prospects, made what could prove to be a cracking loan signing and kept hold of one of our key players in the face of a big offer from an established premier league side and the window is still open for a fortnight. If the claims are legit we've had to lose one established player, who'd as likely as not be available for around 18 games.

What a difference 3 months has made - absolutely incredible to think of the energy and optimism that surrounded the club in May. We've barely kicked a ball since, either.

Roll on 1 September, at least we'll know what we're dealing with for 6 months.

The club are f***ing thick. We best start making some good signings and fast. Getting fed up now
Grow some ffs

funny thing is we'll probably sign 1 player now or something and that'll be us done, save a few pennies for ellis
Are you as are you as thick as you appear? Considering short is putting in £25m plus a year to keep club afloat perhaps you are

Tin hat on here marra, but if Big Sam was in charge, I wouldn't be worried, he would get someone in

The whole thing that worries me in all of this is Moyes.

McNair then Love, scouting Duffy and Naismith, then watching Brentford Forest etc.

Its like going back in time.
You've had it in from day one for Moyes man, give him a chance he's been here 4 weeks, 4 weeks.

Aye when you have a 25 man squad of senior players.

We have 14 of which one is long term injured. Can see that bit in bold going down excellently, while teams like Palace are buying Benteke.
Virtually no team takes their full quota of 25. Nor should they IMO. That leaves masses of money sat on the bench most weeks. Also with kabouls departure we've got 19 senior pros - not far from optimum at all. Jose has the right idea. He aims for 22. Otherwise things lose focus.
