Two weeks to actually do something...

I do think you have to put some faith in Moyes - he's no idiot. He is 2 or 3 weeks behind where he'd like to be. You and I both know we will get 4 or 5 players (or more) in the next 2 weeks. It depends on whether they are good enough, of course. We are weakened now compared to the end of last year but add M'Villa and a RB and we are probably as good as the team which was playing mid table form football under Sam.
I think it'll more like Duffy and an other, club is a disgrace. How to turn potential victory into certain defeat.

We are so dependent on Defoe though. If he pulled his hamstring tomorrow, we re up shit creek.
Correct, but Moyes is aware of this - we will have at least one more striker in the next couple of weeks. No guarantee that the striker will be good enough. Maybe the best way to look at it is keep the faith in our excellent new manager and look forward to the inevitable purchases. We have an exciting couple of weeks coming up.

I haven't been excited by his signings so far like.

I'm not defending anything.

Hull have an average team, haven't signed anyone and beat Leicester first game of the season. Long term they will go down IMO.

Short term we can gain points too. Long term we need new players but we still have more 10 days to sign them. I'm not panicking on August 19th, why would I?
So, you are comparing us to Hull, need I say more? Worst thing is we only lost to City, we needed a wake up call.

And if it isn't Duffy will you admit you are wrong? The club did exceptionally well in getting Moyes in so soon after losing BSA to England - that was beyond the clubs control. We've also got an experienced CEO. Its not all bad and I'm damn sure Moyes is planning to get decent players in. The papers are saying Duffy will go to Brighton.

We'll end up spending half of that on 5 or 6 poor/average players who we'll see for a year before loaning them out until they leave on a free. Rinse and repeat.
Buckley, Bridcutt, Scocco, Cabral, Diakite, Roberge, Moberg-Karlsson, Mavrias, Gomez, N'Diaye, Matthews, Vergini, Coates - The list goes on and on

My worry is the 5 players we do get in won't be first team quality, and more squad players.

Can you see us spending 30 million over the last 12 days?
Maybe you are correct but Moyes is a tremendous appointment - he's no fool, far from it. He know's what we want and what we need. I have a great deal of faith in Moyes - far more than I did with Advocaat or Poyet. I'm not saying its at all ideal at this moment in time but I am quite happy that Moyes is in control of the situation.

We will know in two weeks, I am not convinced, expect more fringe players and mediocrity.

That's a bad comparison mind, comparing us to the worst ran team in the league.

All concerns are legitimate - this is not great.

At least have faith in Moyes though. He still has time to sign us some players.

O'Neill was a tremendous appointment, so was Advocaat.

We've seen this all before. Mind you I hope I'm wrong and Moyes is a roaring success.

Or Khazri, Kirchoff and Kone. All clubs buy players who dont work out - you could do a list of Moyes flops or even SAF flops or Wenger flops. We have moved on from the Di Fanti fiasco.

I'm not comparing us to Hull but both them and Burnley started off with far worse teams than us and haven't signed anyone of note.

I want us to push on this season. It hasn't been a good close season tuus far but Moyes has only been here 3 weeks and there's still time.

MON is the only one who can compare to Moyes and he was THE disappointment in my lifetime. Moyes is better than any manager we've appointed in the last 40 years except BSA and MON - he is as good as them though.

Yeah but I'd say 80% of players we've signed over the last 5 years have been flops.

It's true, you get very lucky at times and get a cracking player for pittance, like we did with Kirchhoff. However, this happens very rarely and a player at that price is more likely to flop than be a success most of the time.

I think you're being unfair on Advocaat mind. He won the UEFA cup with an average Zenit team man.
