Two clubs interested in Oviedo

Yup. The difficulty is that I’m not sure how they find the players to go. Oviedo and Loovens are the only two obvious ones left.
With the policy one out one in, I have no idea why we haven’t terminated Loovens contract. He has to be first out the door surely. He offers us nothing.

BTW this 20 man squad thing is a load of bollocks as well. We got hit by injuries towards the end of last season at a crucial time. They also insisted on taking that mickey mouse cup seriously. The solution? Aim for a smaller squad, because that will help us cope with a 60 plus game season better.
I can see your point however one of the issues with a larger squad is the lack of chemistry in the team as they play with each other less often.

He won’t quit third tier wages for the top flight in Belgium or Norway. We’re gonna have to pay him off.
Catts and Love we're obviously paid off, Oviedo will be next.
Their payoffs might be as much as 75%, so knackers expecting lots of wages to be freed up can think again. If a report on here is correct, we are sailing very close to ffp. The consequences are huge at this level. Let's get shot of this shi t anyway, long before time imo.

I suspect they have tried that already. There was a story a few weeks ago about Loovens considering hanging up his boots. That story clearly didn't originate with Loovens, as no-one would have asked him to change his mind, yet he is still here.
The club might have been interested in circulating a story like that just to get fan support if they were hoping to get him to agree to terminate his contract.
But Loovens, his agent and every SAFC fan knows there would be no other offers on the table for him, so Loovens remains here.

People are really thinking Oviedo is the prime reason we're not bringing players in left right and centre that's why. Some seem to think that him going will spur on loads of transfer activity, I just can't see that being the case.
agree here tbf i thought getting rid of catts would of at least brought in 1 quality (l1) signing, and like if oviedo gans i still dont think more than 1 will come in,and think thats the answer to don cutting of social media.

Is everyone conveniently forgetting his good form at the start of last season? He was one of our main attacking weapons when ross was doing his lopsided defence thing. He got 3 assists in the first 3 games. But aye hes shite, nowt to do with not being utilised properly. The clown actually stumbled upon something that worked but thought, "nah we cant have that, let's change it".
Or the owners thought "fuck, he's actually found a formation to get the best out of him, but he's a high earner"

No. People want him to leave, not realising that if he does, we won't replace him with a better player. Strange.
You think he stood out last season?
Injury prone as per usual and not what we need down in league 1. Give me the pompey left back over him any day of the feckin week .

Man City played the same games as us, 61, but had a 26 man squad. They won the treble. Our squad was stretched last season and we achieved nowt. Just cannot see the logic here.

Maybe something to do with player quality?

Not sure how you can realistically compare man city to us in just about any way.

But only used 21 players during the season in all competitions according to Wiki. (edit - it was 28)

Apparently we used 40 players using the same source. (47 if you use statcat and include subs bench)

He's the last excuse they have for the complete lack of quality incoming transfers, so I hope it's true.
what are they going to say once hes off the books?unforseen debts?or charlie overspent on the bollie and salmon pants?.the next few months will shine a beacon on our owners that they will not be able to avoid!

We were struggling at the end of last season. Do you remember maguire and mcgeady struggling at the business end? Cattermole was knackered for a while, grigg not fit, wyke, watmore suspect with injuries. How anyone can suggest a smaller squad than last year is beyond me like.

Ross has said it’s a one in one out. Oviedo is on huge wages for L1.

Get rid and we can not only bring someone in, the wages saved will also help.

For me the jury is still out in respect of Hume but others can cover fullback positions and if getting Oviedo out gives us the chance to bring in a player to address a glaring gap in the squad (e g someone with pace) then it’s an easy decision to make.
Watmore still has lots of pace and people want to get rid!!
