Harsh but I like it.I know they do but we're going for personal subscriptions here not venue subscriptions. You opt out, you're out and nobody with you is in either.

But would that not be the same as a pub having a sky subscription & person who doesnt popping along to watch footy
True. Sadly they are a cosy part of the establishment so enjoy having their obscene expenditures met by a smelly proletariat who will never understand their sophistication.Doesn’t matter mate they’ll still force you to pay for it.
Massive scam
But, but but blue planetI have Netflix, Amazon prime and NowTV if you don’t watch any of these then tough shit, I think everyone who hasn’t should be forced to pay for them, the same way as people who watch the shite the BBC churns out think those of us that don’t watch live tv or pay the license fee should still have to pay for it.
What f***ing planet do you think that makes sense on?
I actually feel quite sorry for the selfish who can't see the benefits a funded broadcaster like the BBC brings to the wider society and can't see past their own couple of quid a week and their need to be entertained with US TV shows and X-factor.
On the flip side I feel quite sorry for people stuck in the past, who are blinded by the BBC and their need to be "entertained" by shite like strictly come dancing and casualty. Forced to pay for it as well![]()
Numpty
Fuck me, how much!!I've just had my licence statement through he post. Champion really. About £6 a week and I have no urge whatsoever to ring up Auntie, threaten her with leaving unless they drop the subscription fee for me and me alone. I enjoy the simple life.![]()
But it makes our British Empire so great. It's a institution that makes us poor more gentrified. Be happy that it only costs 3 pund a week you ungrateful sod.

OR you could just pay your licence fee and have no one knock.TV inspectors dont have the right to enter your home, they can ask to come in, and you can say no.
you could, or you could follow the link in this thread and see if you actually need a one. Dont pay if you dont need to.OR you could just pay your licence fee and have no one knock.

Exactly
The BBC churn out as much shite as anyone else.
Mrs Browns Boys for example can surely only appeal to the simplest of simplest minds,
meanwhile they pay out exhorbitant salaries too totally talentless so-called celebs.
The commercial stations have turned out quality period dramas and top notch documentaries amongst many other quality productions.
The BBC is no longer an independent unbiased organisation.
It applied for and received funding from the EU, a fact which it tried everything in its power to hide, even though it’s influence is clearly reflected in its news coverage.
You can’t expect every show it puts out to be a wonderful, high brow masterpiece.
Blue planet for example is one of the finest pieces of television ever created.
They’ve had quality dramas and documentaries as well.
But they are a service that has to cater for everyone and unfortunately mrs browns boys are what’s some people like.
Both Commercial and BBC churn out a similar mixture of good, average and total shite.
However the beauty of Commercial TV is it’s far far greater range of choice and options, amongst which I can always find something that suits me, as against the limited range of the BBC which I’m expected to fund even when I can’t find a damned thing worth watching.
To simplify the argument, why should I and many others be forced to pay through the nose for something we don’t really need, when our requirements are very comfortably met elsewhere.
Its a public service.
Plenty of other public services i dont use, yet i still pay for via taxes.
We all pay for commercial telly indirectly by way of paying extra on goods that go towards the cost of advertising, even though we may not watch it.
