Turning this mess around

How long have we said that for
My only teal issue with LJ is looking from the outside he did not want to bring in the experience to work with the young ones -wether this was because they may “ challenge “ the philosophy or his authority we won’t know -but the Defoe situation indicates this may be the case
For a manager in the first day of his tenure to call this out as a “ glaring “ issue points to LJ et al not wanting a challenge from players who would say their piece and lead …
Maybe he wanted him, or alternatively perhaps he understood that at 39 Defoe would take so long to get up to speed and his signing was little more than a side show. The patter about league one defenders shitting themselves looks a tad over the top right now, the lad is miles off the pace. One last dance, aye, if you're talking about watching a couple taking to the floor in order to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.

Makes you wonder if Johnson was actually overachieving with the young group. But I am sure nobody will have that.

They look like they are sulking to me and have no idea what to do now the previous plan has gone.

Big week on the training pitch this week for AN.
But he was happy with the squad and had a say in transfers, working with Speakman to develop a strategy. Stuff along those lines is what he's said in interviews and his leaving statement.

To coin a Reidy phrase ' We are weak as p*ss'.

This - been the common factor since under jack Ross mind and ever since, we’ve got a squad that is too short, not physical enough, young and naive.

Results in routinely being bullied by other teams who stop us dead in our tracks and grind out shite results and stop us playing. I’m quite amazed none of the last 3 managers haven’t tried to recruit with this in mind, we always seem to have an imbalance of short and weak players coming through the door.

We can’t kill teams off because of that and we are prevented from playing. Need to be stronger and adopt shithousery now and again.

The club is fucked. I've never been this low and I can't see any way out for a few years. For years something has not been right and this goes beyond league 1. Why can Blackpool, Luton, Peterborough, Wigan most likely, all get out this league with not even a percentage of the budget that we supposedly have. I'm not one for demanding this or that but I would love a fair trade between the club and it's fans. We have turned out in our masses for years. Got record attendance followed the club up and down the country, got behind the lads but this now feels like a one way street. This last two weeks has been Another pantomime of SAFC. I can get behind new owners, styles, philosophy, and sustainability but its all window dressing to cover the facts that the fans want it more than the ownership group or the players. It's time to close the academy which doesn't serve the playing side of the club. Reduce the stadium capacity and accept our position in league one for the long term because the club has so why don't we.

Since relegation mate, the whole club just haven’t been nasty enough. We’ve been a soft touch both on and off the pitch and we’ve paid the price.

When we dropped into this league, we should have known that clubs would see a trip to the SOL as a big day out and yet we seemed to encourage it. In our first season, Luton were given nearly 6,000; Pompey were given 4,000; Coventry were given 4,500 and even had cash f***ing turnstiles. Even Southend were given nearly 4000

Rather than cashing in, we should have given the absolute minimum to each club
Excellent appointment….Roy was a car crash waiting to happen.

Agreed. Some though, we’re desperate for a big name and the toys are out of the pram.

Totally agreed mate.

1 good season?
2006/07 was good
2007/08 was very average we spent the 3rd most in the PL and finished 16th
2008/09 was a disastrous transfer window and toys thrown out the pram and quit by end of November

At Ipswich he was despised and is regarded as one of the worst managers they ever had

In our previous 2 season in that division we amassed a combined 34 points, attracting players was beyond difficult. To keep us up was a superb achievement.
