Turning this mess around

Shocking appointment. Don’t care about all the “give him a chance comments”. It’s not his fault he was appointed, and I wish him all the luck in the world. It’s just not what is needed atm. Roy Keane is what was needed. These players need a big f***ing shock and a manager to look up too.
Behave lad.......fkn Roy Keane

It’s took two weeks to find a new head coach to point out the young players look shot and the experienced players haven't played enough minutes.

Good luck Alex, dear me.

Players look absolutely shot to bits and cant do the basics, not even having a shot on target from open play ffs.

If we don't go up this season, Speakman is going to be lucky to hold onto his job and even luckier to get it right next season.

Complete shambles
Rinse and f***ing repeat

Just an unbalanced squad full of bairns and players plucked out of obscurity in the hope they will just suddenly turn it on for us.

Prtichard probably the only roaring success so far (Matete looking like he could be) but the inclusion of Pritchard causes more problems than it solves tbh.

Add zero confidence, tiredness and a defeatist mentality and it's a cocktail of self destruction.

Despite what the experts on here say, I think the players did really like Johnson. I know we'd been absolutely humiliated by Bolton but I really don't believe we'd only have gotten 1 point from the next 9.

Even more frustratingly their driving force is a player who was awful for us

I agree. I'd have rather we stuck with Johnson if I'd known Neil was his replacement. Pointless change imo.

I think Neil is probably a better manager, I just think Johnson was sacked at totally the wrong time.

We'll soon seen, no doubt some will blame Neil's failings on Johnson. I think the key failing is recruitment, I think most managers would struggle. Johnson cracked on despite regular injuries, some long term.

Yeah. Johnson has had horrendous luck with injuries, which also ties in with the 'streaks'. Perhaps a failing on the fitness side of things.

Not much Neil can do now to amend that.

No not for me, he had more experienced players last season and couldn't do anything with them, he couldn't even decide on his best formation or starting 11.

What I am saying is young players are going to be patchy. We have a lot of them. They looks like the season has now just too much for them. Merely saying we may have underestimated the job he was doing with them.

It’s all hindsight anyway.

Huge week for AN and the coaches on the training pitch.

The problem is it would be relying on Speakman sacking Speakman by the looks of things.

Top priority needs to be bringing a proper leader into the club, Evans has been an embarrassment of a captain.
How long have we said that for
My only teal issue with LJ is looking from the outside he did not want to bring in the experience to work with the young ones -wether this was because they may “ challenge “ the philosophy or his authority we won’t know -but the Defoe situation indicates this may be the case
For a manager in the first day of his tenure to call this out as a “ glaring “ issue points to LJ et al not wanting a challenge from players who would say their piece and lead …
