Am i the only one who thought he was good tonight then?

Carried Anton all night and bailed him out big time with that goal line clearence. He did put the ball out needlessly a couple of times like but i thought he dealt with most of Everton's aerial attacks and read some of the passing moves well.

No. Glad he was playing.

Just hope The Rock is fit next week or Paulo to take the place of Ferdinand.

He was ok, typical Turner performance really mind Anton had to bail him out when Yakubu shrugged him away.

Lightyears ahead of Anton. But that's nowt to shout about. Thought he was okay, but had a fantastic off the line clearance.

aye, he maybe looked better because Anton was so useless. It doesnt help your performance when your partner is shite like but he held it together at times.

Turner was outstanding. His is a no-nonsense style and he's hardly the most elegant player but he's bliddy effective!

ferdinand has done ok at left back in the past, is onuha not a centre half?
bit of swapping about like but were suddenly short in a position we had loads of options a few weeks ago

I believe he and Bardo have come a long way, if Ferdinand was as secure we'd be laughing.

Anton was pap, however Turners distribution was shocking once again. He's a defender we need to replace if we want to kick on.

Throught Turner was superb. An imperious aerial performance. He is maturing into some centre half.

Premiership defenders can do more than just head it out of play and lash it upfront to nobody, or even make a simple pass instead of booting it out of play.

Yeah he won his header, but he has a number of areas that are very weak.

He was canny, didnt feel as comfortable with Turner/Rio II than Turner/Bramble.

His distribbution is a big problem still.

Good enough for the first 30 england squad.

The big issue I have with him is that, if he comes up against a big, physical striker, he generally gets pulled apart.

In the last year I've seen Carroll, Carlton Cole and Heskey all rip him to shreds. You'd expect them to be the battles he'd thrive in.

If he can sort that on, then I'm sold on him. Until then, I'm still a bit cautious.
