Tumble Dryers

Those 2 things are the exact opposite.
Do you want a repair man or not?

Sounds like the bushes have gone, by the way. That'll explain the knocking. £50 or less most likely to get fixed, and I imagine a decent repair outfit will have them in the van as they'll be standard across loads of models.

WHY the bushes have gone after 2 years is another question.

I'm sure you can still buy vented driers though, surely?

Buy a git posh one like this and neebody can complain

We were the same till we had kids. We do at least 1 load of washing every day. Its mental.
Drying that on racks etc just isn't feasible in winter

😆😆 aye my post was a bit confusing.
Like y’all I have family and use the dryer nearly every day, so can’t have it out of service for a long time or we’ll all smell like them who don’t use tumble dryers.
I can’t find an integrated and vented dryer anywhere, lots of integrated heat pump ones and lots of vented but not integrated

Ah, I see what you mean now - integrate vented are rare, aye.
But on the other hand, the non-vented versions with heat pumps are now miles more efficient, so its probably time to switch.

I've got a non-vented one, should really bin it for a heat pump one instead as I'd save a fortune.

A bit of advice for anyone, if the heater stops working don't buy a new one to replace it or a new dryer like I did for that matter, see if there's a hidden trip switch before doing so.
Ooops!

They are ridiculously expensive to run but I wouldn't be without one in the winter. I'm all for outside drying in the summer though even if some people (including my neighbours) think it's a bit council.
Just clarify that last bit for me,‘it’s a bit council to dry outside’ ?
Is that a look down the nose thing now?

I’m sure that’s it’s illegal in some parts of the USA.
Tip of the day.

Buy a heat pump dryer, thank me later.
Another tip.

The prices are up and down like a tart’s knickers on AO.com

We waited until Black Friday, ordered, same product was £20 cheaper the next week. Fortunately they did a price match against their own product.

Very possibly. I remember going to see some apartments in Sydney years back and the agent said you were not allowed to dry clothes outside on the balcony.

Couldn't be without a dryer mind. Ours went a couple of weeks back and we're due a new kitchen in the next few months but had to buy a second hand dryer to see us through.

The states with the most clothesline bans include:

  • Hawaii
  • Nevada
  • Arizona
  • Florida
Altogether, about 20 states have some restrictions on clotheslines.

Why, what’s the reasoning ?

Your tumble dryer only takes 15-20 minutes?
Yes, if you use the correct program in your washing machine and it’s efficient the clothes are spun almost but not quite dry. As long as you maintain the dryer and clean filters after every dry it shouldn’t take longer. Mine is a condensing dryer, dunno if that makes it any better.

I've got a miele condensing dryer which is well maintained. Still takes considerably longer.
