Tumble Dryers

Mine sounds like it has got 4 bricks in it when it’s in use, so I either need to repair or get a new one. Its just under two years old, and is integrated and vented, but it appears these types aren’t available any more.
Any suggestions for a repair man? I don’t want to arse around wasting time waiting for spares to be delivered, I’d rather just buy a new integrated heat pump model (but these aren’t as efficient or effective as vented) and install it mesel

Never had the need for a tumble dryer. We have a washer with an effective spin cycle and the clothes horse in the spare bedroom is enough to finish the job in cold weather and an outside rack thing in warmer weather.

I’m quite pleased for that because it’s more energy efficient and eco friendly

This.
Only used by wrang 'uns 😀

They are ridiculously expensive to run but I wouldn't be without one in the winter. I'm all for outside drying in the summer though even if some people (including my neighbours) think it's a bit council.

I'm SR6 and have used both of the following, both are recommended

Dobsons (Hylton Road shop) 07720 857207
Neil Bark 07771 553496

More than likely, as said, the belt or the bearings.
However, get it open and have a good feel about inside for anything pocking out of the drainage holes or caught down the sides. We had issues with ours for a week and I finally found a bra underwire stuck in one of the holes.

Candy. I’ve looked for the spare bearings etc but there’s loads of types
We had a snapped belt which was obvious as the drum was not turning, to double check we set the dryer away then opened the door, if the belt is in tact and still turning the drum you should just be able to catch the drum still turning if you look in quickly when you open the door before it naturally comes to a halt.
We also on another occasion had a bearing failure, ours is an Indesit and they are called teardrop bearings due to the shape of them. Was literally just a few quid and a piece of piss to fit once the back is off. The drum at the back has a spindle which passes through the teardrop bearing. The bearing basically keeps the drum central and in place.
I'm sure a candy should be similar.

Its virtually impossible with a family of 4 and 3 or 4 washing machine loads a day. Tried it but got a dryer in the end

Our plug melted and we were encouraged by the helpline to take out warranty at £5 per month, took it out and they came out and fixed it. Cancel warranty

Fair enough.

I know not of what I speak but… 3 or 4 loads a day! Your kids either shit an awful lot (as I say… I know nothing) or you need to exchange them for the self-cleaning model.

Just for the sake of clarity: I’m joking.

Those 2 things are the exact opposite.
Do you want a repair man or not?

Sounds like the bushes have gone, by the way. That'll explain the knocking. £50 or less most likely to get fixed, and I imagine a decent repair outfit will have them in the van as they'll be standard across loads of models.

WHY the bushes have gone after 2 years is another question.

I'm sure you can still buy vented driers though, surely?

Buy a git posh one like this and neebody can complain

We were the same till we had kids. We do at least 1 load of washing every day. Its mental.
Drying that on racks etc just isn't feasible in winter

You mustn't wash much marra, or live alone. Great stuff all the same.

Fine if the spare bedroom can be completely closed off with a window open. Horrendous drying clothes around the house otherwise.
