I have no stats for it, I read an article a while back about there being regrets among a lot of them. Dunno if it was UK based or not, so unsure whether the trials you speak of are relevant. My opinion is there is something wrong with their mind, not their body, if they can't accept how they are born.
There was a study in 2015 in the US about this subject, you can read the results here:

It doesn't mention regretting it, more driven to suicidal thoughts due to stigma and discrimination.

In regards to the thread as a whole there appears to be confusion between the definition of sex and gender.

The reason there is confusion about sex on here is that most havent had sex other than with themselves.

Yup.

Seems to me like some of them stories are undeniable fact i.e. undescended testes, talk of failure to react to hormones etc which is undeniable. Then somewhere they put in that people who decide they aren't in the right body are also backed by the same science, I just don't believe it.
 
re-incarnation in an opposite gender body easily explains the residual inclinations of people who call themselves gay , generally speaking.
