Is it worth waiting until they're not sore anymore? Will it hinder recovery if i lift when they're sore?

Just have a light day. I tend to get sore when I've had a break and jump straight into lifting heavy. The worst for me is normally in my arms but it's not the bicep itself, it's actually the tendon.Is it worth waiting until they're not sore anymore? Will it hinder recovery if i lift when they're sore?
