Train journeys

3 of us from Liskeard to Newcastle with 2 weeks notice. £1048 rtn. Any good as evidence?

Do you have a Two Together card? If not, then why not as it would cut a third off your ticket price at a stroke.

Have you checked the price for split tickets for your journey? If not, then why not?

Have you looked at earlier or later trains for the same journey? If not, then why not?

There are so many ways to get a cheaper ticket that I can't believe that anyone would pay the first price they can find.

I've just done a search and I can do that journey for £265 for both of you using a Two Together card.

That's leaving Liskeard at 9:50 on the 11th April, returning at 06:45 on the 14 th April.

Using splitticketing you can save another £58 and get the same journey for £244.70.

Nowt worse than a man having a little power trip by making the train into his own personal office. Laptop open, notepad prepped "yeah can you just send that over to Karen in accounts and I'll get back to you... can we just touch base on the latest client..." Piss off. Whatever you're doing isn't that important and if it was, you wouldn't be sat here in peasant class like the rest of us

Indeed the biggest reason I take headphones with me isn't so that I can listen to music, it's so that I can block out whatever shit is going on around me

I normally find it's middle aged, higher middle class women, talking about the 700 holidays they've been on, while saying how many "g&ts" they've had and declaring how much they love alcohol.

Nearly £800 for 3 of us or £150 to drive and nobody telling us when we have to go. It's also quicker to drive than get the train. I would love to use the train but I'm more likely to fly from Exeter

Tell you what mind, I've just looked at rail cards, if I'm armed forces, travelling with kids, a student, an oap or disabled then great, I can get discounts...I'm none of those so I'm stuck with ridiculous prices. Twatting bastard extortionate robbing gits

I'd never twigged they had trains in Ireland. Never even thought about it. How mad is that!

They are behind the times with so many other things it is a reasonable assumtion to make

What is it about trains that make people talk corporate bollocks?

Take your accelerated Q4 projections and your strategic narratives and shove them up your backside.

3hrs of this shite from a woman who wants everyone to know how important she is.

Stick some porn on your ipad on full volume

No the total quote that I gave was for two people travelling together.

You always travel on your own?

Depending on where you are and where you're travelling, there's a whole host of regional railcards as well. Network Railcard is a must for train travel in the south east, for example (assuming you're travelling off peak).

It's fairly easy to bump.

Correct. If I can I book a seat in the quiet carriage to make sure of zero bollocks. Someone answered their phone once and I asked them to take it outside. Ignorant bitch

The majority of the time I am. Will look at getting a railcard for me and the kids but doesn't help for the majority of the trips I do.

I saw the network railcard, no good though as I'm Durham to London most of the time

How? Knowing my luck I'd be caught straightaway.
