Very similar, including the friendship between the main 2 characters.
Just watched the first series again. Very different show to series 3 & 4 - much grittier, less 'glamourous', less rap. Still excellent though.

There was a shot in series 4 when Jamie and Sully were travelling in a car in Spainto meet the copper that was filmed exactly like Gomorrahs driving scenes.

Summer house is only 4 episodes a series so worth watching but I think you would need to watch series 3 and 4 again to connect the dots.
