Newspapers on the whole are dying out. I studied journalism and they angled the whole course to online content, social media, blogging, video, vox pops etc. People want to read news on the go in their hand and that's much easier than physically holding a newspaper and turning each page.

The Sunderland Echo had nothing of any substance in really. My Grandad used to get it because he would find out which of his friends had died. They stopped doing that so he cancelled it about 3/4 years

I used to buy it religiously every night wouldn't use it as arse paper now

What happened to the real football echo man? Did they take him down to Sheffield?

or pushing through the scrum outside the Radio Rentals or Redifusion shop

Was good at Sheff United as it was 5 minutes walk to the city centre shops so you could leave the match at full time and make the tv shops in time for the results.
