No idea what happened to him at Bristol Rovers but saw him a few times for Exeter and always stood out, I think we were linked at that time too IIRC hence the Sunderland fan link.

I know we can’t spunk money about, but a lot of these links for players say penny pinching insurance salesman than billionaire french saviour. Time will tell I suppose. If it happens and I’m not convinced it will could be the best things since sliced bread. God knows we’ve released plenty of players that were poor for us and they went on to have excellent careers

He works hard. That’s it, that’s the post.

“Movement is ok, pretty weak on the ball. Goal return isn’t anything to right home about. Seems to have lost a yard of acceleration probably due to a couple of serious-ish knee injuries. A gamble of a signing for Sunderland”

That’s the text I’ve got from a lower League scout I know.

most signings we're going to be able to make (given the wage cap limitations) are going to be gambles.

We aren't going to be able to poach a striker who's bagged 25 goals 4 seasons running because we haven't got the room to manoeuvre.

a lot of people seem to think now we've got rid of Donald, we can now go and sign whoever we want.

just went onto youtube to see what type of player he is (big target man, nifty poacher etc). I know youtube always paints a rosy picture but at least you get an idea of his style.

First video is Tom Nichols goldenboot winner (for Exeter City) which is amazing given he doesn't score goals.

I have it on good authority that Sunderland are in talks to sign Tom Nichols.

He is a boyhood Sunderland fan, therefore I can't see him turning it down.

Lee Johnson loves his stats on the ball and out of possesion, perfect fit for them.Assitant manager Jamie mcallister played with him at Exeter City.

Gutted as he has been superb for a free transfer.

Undisclosed fee 2 1/2 year contract
Cheers mate for the info.

I don’t think we can sign whoever, I actually don’t think we’ll sign anyone that’s older the 22 and probably loan signings only.

A 27 year old 1 in 5 ish striker who doesn’t lead the line particularly well isn’t worth a look in my humble opinion.
