Tom Cannon bid in - now signed for Sheff U.

By Alan Nixon
Luton Town and Hull City have joined Sunderland in making bids for Leicester City’s Tom Cannon.
The Hatters followed up an initial interest by tabling an offer of around £6 million which tops their rivals.
Hull have also made an official move while Sunderland are in but may not increase their offer.
Foxes are hoping for a bid up to £10 million but may have to take less.
Sheffield United and Stoke City are also keen but both are only currently talking about loan to possibly buy arrangements.
Burnley could make a late move if they sell Lyle Foster before the window shuts

We’ve sold Clarke to end up with a loan signing haven’t we?! Can see it coming a mile off.

IF we have the brass to bring in a couple of talented lads AND pay a reasonable and sustainable salary, we would be foolish to hoy a massive wedge at any premier league lads.

UNLESS thay are on loan and subsidised salary wise by their club, how happy will a player be in taking a step down and a huge wage cut?, and how daft would we be to hoy massive wages at a top level player to twist their arm into signing?

Goes against everything the club has set out to be, cannot see it on a permanent at all, unless speakman has totaly changed approach.

We sold Clarke cos we had mundle I assume, we needed a 9 when he was here and we still need a 9, hopefully before Friday, and loan or permanent don’t give a fuck.

Could see Luton doing it. Even more so if somebody comes in for Adebayo before the end of the window.
Can’t see anyone higher up the food chain wanting Adebayo. Wouldn’t rule Luton out of the Cannon chase though. Parachute payments etc …

As a striker, you'd look at Roberts, Jobe, mundle, Poveda, Isodor, Rigg and be thinking if I don't score 15 goals minimum then I'm not that good.
Striker starts hitting that marl and we either go up or they start looking at a move to a higher league club.

Most of our transfers in the recent past we have known little about and certainly nowt about the bids until the day they signed and even then the money is never really discussed ..so what makes this different ?or is it all just hype and wishful thinking?
