Tom Cannon bid in - now signed for Sheff U.

I always had this fella down as a goalscoring midfielder or number ten, certainly not a goal poaching out and out centre forward?

Seems a nice bloke but he was purely the cheap, easy option devoid of any plan and hell bent on signing old shite ala Ayew and Bobby Decordova Reid. He also seems to have no tactical idea whatsoever.

Graham Potter had agreed to take over on the proviso he could bring in his own Director of Football which of course we refused as our owner seems deadly in love with the absolutely useless leech that is John Rudkin.

Don't get me wrong I don't think Potter is all that but he would have made a lot more sense working with the players we have and the style that had been embedded over the last few years.
There was some of our lot on here, absolutely desperate for us to try get Cooper. I've never seen the fuss about him tbh and just seems another "jobs for the boys" type. He'll be another on the managerial merry-go-round over the years.

Depends what Cannon wants - I don't know Norwich's wage structure but they already have Sargent, can't imagine Cannon being first choice there. Stoke have money but they're Stoke.

Sunderland can offer him game time and we look to be heading up the table.

He’s pretty much guaranteed to lead our front line if he comes here.

Might get 15/20k a week more elsewhere so it depends where his priorities are I suppose.

It just seems a bit unlikely to me.

Feel like with how stringent we are with spending they'll probably be incredibly wary (and rightly so) of spending a large fee on someone who recently spent a decent chunk of time out injured. Not an injury that's a simple fix either.

Think we'll spend money on a striker this week but would be surprised if it's Cannon. Bet he's already on a canny wage from signing for Leicester last year as well.

I see where you're coming from here. I've been fine with the model, understanding our most valuable players need to be moved on and that money can then be reinvested - OK, we've all hung in there through the Clarke sale and now it's time to prove out the reinvestment part of the model. Hoping we end up with a couple of strikers and a RB - most likely one permanent transfer for a striker and one on-loan striker.

Clear at the bottom by some distance.

Not seen such dissatisfaction at the club/ownership/DOF for many years.

Finally the fanbase as a whole seems to be waking up and there were long sustained chants against the Director of Football away at Fulham on Saturday.

Ps, seems like Faes wants out so if you fancy going a long way to making the fans a lot happier stick in a bid 🤣. Can't stand the bloke.
Faes is bloody terrible. Never rated him. Thought he was poor in the Championship. Always a mistake in him.
I’m not saying he’s not good enough for the championship, I’m saying he’s not good enough to step up to PL level.
What league are we in?

I'm with you on this one. It would be great if we could get him but......

Sargent might be away this week.
Take it you’re not a fan of Steve Cooper?
It’s the equivalent of us getting a former Mag manager.
