Tom Cannon bid in - now signed for Sheff U.

Mental isn’t it?! It’s like we haven’t been talking for about 3 years how we look to sign players who are considered good value with the ability to grow, develop & sell on for a profit. Basically the opposite of what we did for about 10 years.

How can these people not be happy that we’re not going out bidding £15m for a player. Lunatics.

By the way, here’s a list of our most expensive signings, it’s a great read.

It’s not a good read mind 😢

Cannon also fits our system a lot more then Moore which people don’t understand

They see someone who has scored goals and thinks it works like that for every club

He looks like he can play across 3 positions up top, which will be appealing to us…

8 goals in 19 starts for preston
2 goals in 3 starts for leicester

Though it isnt many games to go on it is 10 championship goals in half a season which isnt bad at all tbf.

I’d imagine the club will be annoyed that this has been leaked by a journalist in the East Midlands. We seem very keen on doing our business very much under the radar. It looks like this has been a deliberate leak by Leicester to try and start a bidding war.

As we’ve seen with the Mendy saga the club will have a ceiling for targets and I couldn’t see us upping any bid dramatically.

If Leicester think they can get much more for Cannon they can crack on. Time is running out in this window and Leicester by Steve Copers admission are a few players short yet on the squad he’s after.

Given a choice of Norwich, Stoke and Sheffield United and us, something is seriously wrong if we don’t get this lad through the door.

NOW is the time to spend a big fee and take all the associated risk on a striker. 3 from 3, players playing with confidence, signing Cannon now would be a coup and a statement of intent that could propel us forward.
