Is there a GB mens too or is this just a womens tournament?
Think the respective FAs generally refuse to put a mens team in (with the exception of the Olympics in London). Something about them all having a vote with fifa, and the feeling that a lot at fifa feel the British have too much of a say as a result. So they think if they enter British teams regularly, they might come under pressure from fifa to only enter a Great British team in world cups and euros

Comfortable win and a decent performance.

The Japan v GB game on Saturday should be a cracker.

Japan are a very decent team, probably one of the best passing teams in the world.

Gerrin, I'm still in isolation on Saturday, will give it a go. This one was a decent game. Shame fans aren't in like, imagine it would be a good atmosphere on Saturday

Cheers. I didn't realise it was a womens only thing for us.

Didn't we once put a Team GB in for something? Wasn't it pretty much England with Ryan Giggs added?

Aye, we entered a mens team for London 2012, just because we were at home. Scottish players were in the preliminary squad but they ended up being cut and it was just English and Welsh (partly, I'd imagine, because of how much the Scottish and Northern Irish FAs opposed it). The other FAs couldn't ban their players from playing, but they didn't want it to happen. As an aside, Jason Steele ended up in the squad, a pretty unlikely olympian!

Cheers, that is what I'm thinking of.

Christine Sinclair bags yet another goal for Canada, 1-0 up over Japan inside 5 mins.

GB’s second game vs Japan is 11.30am Saturday on BBC1.

How many were English in the GB starting 11? Seemed to recognise most of the names towards end of the game. Unless a lot of English girls came on as sub. Houghton Paris Bronze White Scott

9. Kim Little and Caroline Weir of Scotland started. Sophie Ingle of Wales came on in the second half.

let’s see if Japan can exploit the change of Canadian keeper with Labbe being injured and taken off.
