Same stadium where England beat Argentina 1v0 in 2002.Didn't realise that this game is being played in an indoor stadium.
Such a shame that crowds aren't allowed at this Olympics.
I reckon that the Japanese would have backed their home games as massively as the British public did in 2012, every single event would have been a sell-out.
I won’t be supporting them while they take the knee iircIt is interesting that when people said they were not that arsed about the Euros or watching England, there was uproar from some inthe reaction. "But it is your country, you should be proud", "you can't even be a fan of football" etc. But a Great British team is playing football in the Olympics, the oldest sporting tournament in the world, and most of us woke up this morning not even knowing about it. Where have the uber fan patriots gone?
Because the euros world cups etc is kept within the football world, the Olympics is something completely different. You win the euros you win the entire thing you win football in the Olympics you win a few medals that go towards a much bigger count. It doesn’t mean half as much. oh and if woman’s football, you know it doesn’t get watched as much no matter the format/eventIt is interesting that when people said they were not that arsed about the Euros or watching England, there was uproar from some inthe reaction. There isn't one.Who's in the GB mens team?
To be fair its not that interesting. Most people aren't bothered about women's football. I know it's being pushed, and more people are giving it a chance, but most people don't care about it. Could say the exact same about safc where we get people who say "I never miss a game", but the lasses team gets attendances of around 1,000. I'm always surprised when fans of mens football from England aren't interested in supporting their country in a huge tournament. It doesn't surprise me at all that people don't have the same passion for a women's game. If people go regularly to watch safc ladies, I'd expect them to have a bit of interest in a GB or England lasses team as wellIt is interesting that when people said they were not that arsed about the Euros or watching England, there was uproar from some inthe reaction. There's no real interest from the various F.A.'s in fielding a team, they're too busy protecting their own positions.Who's in the GB mens team?
So people must be interested in England mens team in a major sporting event, but it is fine not to be interested in Great Britain in a major sporting event? To be fair its not that interesting. Not that interesting to you maybe but most people are bothered about the Olympics. To be fair its not that interesting. Most people aren't bothered about women's football.
No, there's a clear difference between men's and womens football. As you know, given the massively lower attendances in the sport. I am a supporter of the SAFC and England men's teams. Your argument about "not being passionate about the England team" might as well be expanded to cover all the other sports that people don't watch. If you like mens football and are English, I'd expect you'd have an interest in the England mens national team. If you like womens football and are English, I'd expect you'd have an interest in the England women's team. If you like mens rugby union and are English, I'd expect you'd have an interest in the mens England rugby union team.So people must be interested in England mens team in a major sporting event, but it is fine not to be interested in Great Britain in a major sporting event?
It seems like double standards to me, or people need to admit that some people are just not passionate about the England team.
Over 26,000 empty seats for the 2016 Women's final. Not that interesting to you maybe but most people are bothered about the Olympics.
The worldwide viewing figures are huge and most of the events would normally be sold out including the women's football.
That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying it's not interesting that people who would be passionately watching England men's team might not be watching this. Read the post I was replying to, rather than inferring the wrong meaning from my postNot that interesting to you maybe but most people are bothered about the Olympics.

Waste of time quoting the Brazil Olympics, it was the exception that proves the rule.Over 26,000 empty seats for the 2016 Women's final.
