Errrrr better to have backing than not, it's not money being no object it's getting value for the Fooka....

I understand that but I'd also be happy for enough investment to get us into the Championship and look for further investment once we're there. £5m would be more than enough immediate investment now imo. The new manager is the most pressing issue atm....get that wrong and next season won't be pleasant.

Pretty sure it's off. I've never seen a successful takeover drag out like this... There's obviously something investors aren't happy with when they get access to the books, given thats been two deals that have now fell through.

Manager wise, out of our choices it's got to be Stendle, plays decent football and why is Ainsworth even seen as a good option? One good 1/3 of a season and he's suddenly a top manager in the EFL?

I'd love be to see Roy Keane back, but truth be told I think he'd struggle given we're relying on free agents and loans at present.
It hasn't dragged on man. It's been less than a month and a half or so. Have to say the pressure on SD to get the right man is immense as he wants promotion this season.
Maybe get the candidates to play FM19 and set the game up to replicate the current situation and see who does the best?

“I don’t feel it was the right deal for Salmon Pants and I”

SD
Tidied.

We should draft Bong Eye Ryder in to play it; he's the expert in such matters.

Then we have to start the cycle and conclude in 3 months after promotion, proppa foundations need to gan in now.....if not the Yanks a.n.other

you are kidding right????

this isn’t like buying a tin of beans for goodness sake

I was personally involved in a deal that took over 2 years to complete. It was never seriously in doubt, simply complex and the DD was done properly

Exactly- and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the update we do get either today or at some point over the weekend, is that nothing has been decided either way and that both parties are still in discussions over future investment.

As Lord Alfred points out even if the takeover / investment goes through there’s no firm guarantees that we’ll suddenly start throwing money about.

Ross said that he’d had conversations with the new prospective owners and they had assured him there would be a sensible approach to sustainable growth in the club for the long term.

As Donald himself mentioned we shouldn’t need investment to get out of League 1 which is why the choice of manager is the most important decision right now.

Exactly this.

I don't think we will have,a definitive answer today, as they are still talking. It was never a full takeover as the present owners have said they were staying. As regards the manager, I think it makes little difference to the deal who we go for, in that, we need a league one, possibly championship manager. Not Jose Mourinhio or any other top flight boss who can't spend in this league like the premiership😊 Horses for courses.

This sentiment surprises me - who exactly were you expecting?
We are a big League One club linked with (mainly quite young) League One or smaller Championship clubs’ managers, and giving one of our club legends his first manager job (after he’s spent 5 years as an assistant in the top 2 divisions). Not sure how that means the takeover is off, it’s standard tactic for a big League One club I would have thought.

Last week any fucker must be better than Jack Ross. This week apparently that meant as long as they had only ever managed in the top flight and top end of the Championship.

Have you got a lot of experience with takeovers?

I've not been near anything Corporate Finance related for more than a decade, but I remember the monthly all staff meetings where I did my accountancy training and the Corporate Finance team could be giving an update on the same takeover for 2 or 3 meetings in a row so I always assumed that big deals took a long time to complete.

I’m expecting investment from the yanks not a full blown takeover .Dont think it’ll be done and dusted today but certainly tonight or over the weekend some update from Stewy.

Investment is ok atm ,just get them onboard in some capacity as loads of coin is needed when we go up not now
Isn't that what Juan was supposed to be

Those foundations could be Sartori though. He's rich enough to get us out of this league but the original plan was for him to become more involved in the Championship.

The club has hardly any infastructure Mary lad. There's other areas just as important as the first team that need a makeover. Infact I would say putting the right people in place ti get you value is far more pressing.
