TM accepts we are buying players for future

All well and good umtil the selling team realise what we are doing and inserts but back clauses.
Yep, but that’s all negotiation. If they want a buy back they get less up front. We’ve shown we’re more than willing to walk away if the deal doesn’t suit us. The deals we’ve done since KLD came in have been very favourable from a financial perspective. No reason to think they won’t continue in that vein.

You have to wonder what the players think of it. Obviously we don’t know what type of relationship he has with them, I'm assuming a positive one. Although it's not a severe as Moyes' relegation battle interview, it still has that err of this squad isn't good enough about it. We all know where we're short and where we are top heavy. However I suspect the imbalance is because they expected 3 or 4 to have moved on to other clubs by now. The building of the promotion squad isn't complete yet imo, but the expectations set by last seasons fantastic efforts have led many to think we are real contenders.

It just seems odd, a lot about the summer seem's a touch disjointed. None less than the actual job that Mowbray's done, the run-in was fantastic, the team spirit, primarily with the youngest players through injuries, he said himself that they outperformed what he thought possible, rather than realigning he appears to have doubled down on old preconceptions.

Everything that he was given, he did so well with, im not sure why he would grasp for something that has worked so mediocre with in the past.

His closest advisers were on the board at Marseille. They're no pushovers.

TM quote: “I want better players, I want to sign the best players in the league to get promotion”
That’s not the model, that’s not what we’re doing, and that’s fine.”
Are you some sort of spin doctor? Talk about misquoting someone. The sentence you quote began with the words 'Its not a case of me stamping my feet and saying 'I want better players.....' Why deliberately miss out the words that you did as it gives an absolute opposite meaning?

They only make money by reaching the PL.

They're currently losing millions a year.
They're taking a calculated punt which will only benefit themselves in the long term.
That doesn’t fit with the evidence, though. They continue to invest in the club. There’s not even a suggestion that they’re looking to sell. That’s not at all what we saw from Donald. Should they be pushing the club even further beyond what it can naturally sustain?
You're right, the evidence of today directs us to there is little hope of the punt paying off for them. Putting in the bare minimum is this custodians intent. Nothing more. This owner is incapable of taking the club to the next level, a whole lot of foreplay and no end product. I'll clap along for the time being.
