Time to get behind the manager.

has to better than playing gooch anywhere near the defense surely alves is untested gooch is tested we know the results for gooch which is hes f***ing awful at everything
Can’t disagree with you regarding Gooch, he’s a terrible footballer irrespective of which position he’s played in.

He hasnt showed me enough of an improvement to fully back him, cut our losses now.
He is another manager who has fallen into the trap that Oxford have played since we arrived in the third division. Every season, its been a mirror image of the previous season home game and LJ could change anything around .

My point exactly mate, sick of this de ja vu scenario we are in week in week out. The manager has failed so far and will continue to do so as this job like many before is too big for him.

sacking managers isn't the problem. The ones who have been sacked deserved to go.

The problem is wrongly employing them in the first place. Present manager included.
Very valid point.

Clubs get slated for how many managers they've sacked over a certain number of years compared to other clubs.

It rather assumes all of the clubs being compared have had the same quality of managers and the manager's job at each club is the same level of challenge.

We have had several managers who should never have been appointed and have therefore needed sacking from their very first day - I give you Phil Parkinson and probably Simon Grayson.

It's not just about their general ability, it's about their suitablility to doing the specifc job of managing Sunderland.

Here are the stats from the last two seasons.

After 19 games last season we had 30 points & sat in 10th, the season before that we had 27 points after 19 games & sat 13th in the table.

This season isn't going too bad all things considered.

The reason that LJ is under pressure is because of previous failures.

Sacking him is absolutely futile , if a new manager came in the fans would be on his back immediately if we fell away from the promotion pack .

The bigger picture is obvious to see , we probably need 3 half decent signings in January and we will go up.

I also think the takeover at the scum has affected some of our clueless fans. We have no control over it whatsoever so let's forget about it.

Stop pissing the bed and judge at the seasons end.
Thats right LJ is under pressure because of his OWN previous failures...you just keep on clapping...

The bottom line is , LJ thinks he is more clever than other managers. He speaks well, or so he must believe but foer the most part he is trying science over bullshit time after time.. Personally, I don't know why I've clicked to watch but I've turned off his last 7 or 8 post and pre match interviews, around a third of the way in, which is out of character for me. I listen and can suffer most thing but not his pressers.

Tbh Him and Robinson were 2 peas in a pod yesterday as they are both a pair of jumped up gobshites.

Fair point but some of them managers where in an era where we where well and truly in the crap under the back end of short pal

:lol::lol: fair point

On a serious note, I think it’s how badly we’ve played that people are unhappy, not necessarily the results.

If we’d played class at Shrewsbury and only taken a point, at least we could say we can see what he’s trying to do.

Playing crap as often as we have will generally lead to finishing outside the top two, so big improvements are needed.

Have l said that? No. Are we in the bottom half of the table or are we pushing for promotion with a depleted squad?
We’re not pushing man ! We get near the top 2 have a nose bleed and slip back to where this team/management belong about 5th/6th ! We aren’t pushing we are hanging on
