Time to dismiss the big spending bruce theory

You are if you think 4 wins in 20 is acceptable.

What about the first half of the season? Are you ignoring that? Was that not acceptable to?

Some teams win 2, lose 2, draw 2 repeat... We just happened to win and draw loads, then lose and draw loads. Over a season it was top 10 form.

We have NEVER been under the threat of relegation under Bruce, regardless of what the sensationalists will say, yet we have progressed year on year under him. At least wait until the bloke fucks up before sacking him.... oh, I forgot, he lost 2 games vs a team called Newcastle - that is worse than relegation amongst our uneducated, small minded, and obsessed fans.

It's not, but that wasn't all this team. We are only a few games into THIS season and last season we got the job done which was a top 10 finish.

I'll give Bruce and the team thats playing NOW a chance. If he fucks it up then he won't get many fans supporting him anymore. You should try it, you know, actually support the lads.

Therefore you cannot ignore lack of progress. ;)

But of course you can, there is a massive difference between not progressing (or standing still) and going backwards.

If we finish 13th or above this season, only points off 10th then that wouldnt be a great season, but not a disaster either. Finish 15th or below and questions have to be asked..

So at the end of January after 18 months and 4 transfer windows it's not his team?:lol::lol::lol:

WTF?

I just said it's now his full team. We still have bits of shit hanging about but the 25 man is more or less the team he has brought in.

This is his big season and he cannot fail. Midtable or above or he will lose the faith of a lot of fans.

4 transfer windows to get rid of the shit he has and replace them with decent players is not an easy ask. This isn't footy manager.

Selling a player is different because by selling a player, he depletes his playing squad. You sell one player, you buy another, you have one player left. You sell a pair of gates, buy a player, you still have the exisiting squad plus new player.

Ah, i cant be arsed. If you didnt listen at school, thats your fault.

This must be one of those clever people who invents characters to wind people up.

What are you going on about? If you read the whole dialogue, you'd definitely find that me arguing against a completely nonsensical notion.

No we don't, unless you're Steve f***ing Walton. You're jumping to your own conclusions and turning them into cold hard fact. The only facts that we have been given are figures in and out for SOME of the transfers. Looking at these fees and the estimated ones, Bruce has received more money for players (whether or not he bought them is irrelevant) than he has spent on them.

He does that all the time mate!

You rely on websites

I check websites when it comes to cold hard facts - i.e. appearance, goals etc, though half the time I'll have a decent idea anyway. I dont check for transfer fees of Sunderland players which differ from website to website.

anti-Bruce bias can be justified by any reason whatsoever, however tenuous.

Asking if he counted loan fees, bosman and agent fees isn't "anti-Bruce bias" especially when the £6m loan fee for Gyan is included in his initial post. It would be f***ing stupid of anyone to try to come to some kind of conclusion of Bruce's spending without at least looking at them when you've included one in your argument.

If Steve Bruce sells £40m of Roy Keane's players and buys £40m of Steve Bruce's players, he has still bought £40m worth of players in the same way Keane bought £40m worth of players.

Of course in doing that you still lose massive amounts of money due to the fees paid out when buying, selling and loaning players not to mention bigger contracts. Ie O'Shea might have cost the same as McShane but is probably paid 5x as much.
