Time for a woman manager? (No specific suggestion)

The number of men of a certain age, in our support, would self-implode at the thought of women managing our team, i think it would be hilarious quite honestly Sunderland breaking new ground in management.:lol:

Got one in my local Aldi already.
Although that bloke Eddie Izzard
prancing up n down touchline would be amusing.

Looking at the fact that we’re going with young foreign kids, who at their age are usually pushing back against the authority of their father, maybe a mom type would be a better bet. Growing up a boy will eventually end up in a power struggle with his father at some point and it’s the mom that keeps the ship steady.
I would like to see this not for the fact she’s a woman but more for the psychological reasons. You never want to disappoint or piss of the mom because there’s no recourse.

People like Rooney, Lampard, Carrick have played at the very highest level and experienced everything there is in the game. They've played under the greatest managers with the best players for decades. They're experts. They get the job based partly on reputation, and partly based on the fact they're experts of the game.

You already know this. You're just arguing for the sake of it.

If a female player came along that was as good as one of our players I'd happily put them in the mens team. Not because they're a woman, but because they've earned the right to be there.
You do know that the chances of a female being good enough at football to play in the championship is between zero and none don't you???

That's not sexist, it's biological reality

I think the only doubt would be if the players would respect her. It will happen and some smart club will probably benefit from trying it, but I think it needs to be tried lower down the leagues first.

Sounds great but who would be at home making the dinner while the match is on.

Anytime women in football is mentioned the thread goes to shit. We've got the posters who hate women and the posters who want to look a hero in front of the female posters on the board so thrive on women threads.

I wouldn't appoint anyone who has absolutely zero experience in the men's game. and whether we like it or not, the women's game is a completely different ball game to the men's at present. It'll change though, we will see a woman managing a mens team in the next few years
