Allardyce is completely blameless in this, as are the club on the whole...
Cannot blame him for wanting the top job plus the club cannot really stand in his way but the fa do have to explore all avenues to try and get the right man (again) just a bummer it's happened at this time of year...
No denying this is having a detrimental effect on safc, longer it goes in the worse it will be
Ideally, we will keep Sam as he is a known quantity - proven in the PL as well as our club, which is rare. I think most of us were looking forward to seeing us sign a few quality players and have a 'comfortable' season in comparison to previous year. This situation has screwed up those thoughts beyond belief, to the point where some want him sacked and replaced immediately, with most believing that Moyes will slot straight in. If Moyes was a dead cert to take the role then I'd agree that he should be brought in immediately; however, the problem is that you don't always get what you want. What if we sacked Sam and Moyes didn't want it and we ended up with someone like Martinez only for Sam to not get the England job?

I'm happy for us to wait it out another week, there has to be an end point but I'm not there yet, even if I'm really frustrated by the circumstances.

1. Flattered that our manager is being considered for the most important position in England and is the odds-on favourite.
2. If he gets it, optimistic that a good manager (e.g., David Moyes) will be named immediately.
3. Our first 8 matches will result in a lot more than 3 points.

The longer this drags out the more the fans are getting pissed off with the current situation
Noticed a marked shift from support for Sam a week or so to now realisation we are in no mans land in a very important period for the club
Decision has to be made next week either way
Load of utter excrement

It does matter because some posters are suggesting it's only a few bed-wetting fannys who are wanting something done very very soon.

I think it's now a majority and if it is Sam's position is becoming very difficult.
Dumb and dumber

Remarkable observation and real top draw post.

Same here. Everyone I've talked to, all season card holders and all live in Sunderland are concerned about the lack of transfer activity.

It looks as though history is repeating itself but let's face it, we all know the club will use this situation as an excuse. An excuse for a poor start and an excuse for not bringing in sufficient quality, which we won't.
But what do the season ticket majority from Shields think?

Get Sam out that door and in the England job ASAP,Fans ,players are becoming restless and anyone who thinks this whole debacle isn't damaging our preparation for the season is kidding themselves .
I wish Sam was staying and hadn't been offered the England job but he has ,obviously wants to go-so go asap and good luck .

Moyes in asap please .

I agree tbh. I wish none of this happened, but it has. It's shit, but we have to sort this and know who's in charge for the season by Wednesday imo. I was looking forward to this pre season and had a bit hope, more than I've had for a while, but how it's turned out I would rather we just made the call for them if its go to drag on and get Moyes in.

Needs to go,if he stays and then results start to go against us at anytime in the season(which they will) all this crap will be racked up as the reason .

Go now .

 On what grounds
Wouldn't sack the bloke as he's done nothing wrong ,however the longer he's here the more damage to our preparations for the season .

It's like we don't have a manger at present ,so why keep him? As I've said, hope he's announced as England manger Asap so we can move on .

Most of us are SAFC first and foremost, with a couple of exceptions. If it'd been a simple case of him being interviewed then leaving two weeks ago i don't think many would have had any ill feeling......the fact he's been willing to go along with this process at our expense and after SAFC have publicly stated they aren't happy with how it's been handled is the problem.

I think he'll be gone by Monday and a new man in by Rotherham, if not Hartlepool.

.
Yep think you've got it spot on there marra, understand his wish for the England job but the current situation at this time is detrimental to S.A.F.C. basically we're in limbo whilst he sits at home being paid for nowt and hoping to hit the jackpot.

I still hope he stays, but time has almost ran out for me. We need an answer either way Monday/Tuesday and whoever in charge for Wednesday. What I will say, if he stays we need a decent start like never before. We already needed one after the last few seasons, but like you say, it would be essential to put this to bed by getting points on the board asap. Hope he stays still mind, but time has ran its course now on needing an answer, either way.

My fear is if he stays and we start off shite then the knives will be out, alternatively if he stays -signs a bit of quality, starts picking points up straight away then it'll all be forgiven .

It's a difficult one,as Sam-The Fa-SAFC have all done nothing wrong .but for the good of the club someone needs to act in the next day or two out of those three parties.
