Tickets not valid for replay

I honestly can't believe people have this thought process. Why the fuck do people just want everything for nowt these days man, such a boring, selfish culture. Just buy another ticket and have another piss up with your mates, or if you can't make it due to work just laugh it off.

i'm not fussed about having to pay again, it's just one of those things and ended up being a game that people will talk about for years to come. in 20 years there will be 20,000 claim to have been there.
one thing though, i wonder if the stanley fans with season tickets will have to pay for the replay? if not i thought clubs couldn't charge away fans more than home fans in equivalent areas?
Well the season ticket holders have a ticket for the match, it's their season ticket. Anyone without a ticket for the rearranged fixture simply has an invalid ticket for the abandoned one.

Not really, I'd expect it covered as part of my season card, of course I would, but if the first one effectively didn't count as a game as part of my season card I wouldn't make an argument for expecting the away fans to pay again. It's either a totally new game for everyone or a replacement game for everyone
Yes you're correct it's a new game for everyone. So... The Accrington fans have purchased their season ticket therefore have a valid ticket. SAFC fans need to purchase a ticket if they'd like to attend the match.

I wasn’t at the game I’m in Spain at the moment but can’t believe people are wanting free or discounted tickets, travel for a rearranged game, it wasn’t the fault of Accrington the match was abandoned and if the same happened at home how many season card holders would pay the club for a rearranged game. I’m pleased it means Accrington get another pay day and if people don’t want to pay they don’t have to go to the game.

Andy Holt has said that tickets won’t be valid for re-arranged fixture. Disgraceful IMO, 20 quid ticket and 30 quid travel (minimum) for 70 minutes of a friendly against Accrington f***ing Stanley.
Do you expect a refund if it rains on your summer holidays?

This thread has outed a few absolute whoppers mind.

Agree with all this.

Not really a good comparison. A football match is more of an event. And usually if an event is cancelled midway through then tickets are still valid for the rescheduled event. For example, when U2 cancelled their recent Berlin gig halfway through because Bono lost his voice the tickets were valid for the rescheduled gig.

Or to use your travel comparison, if you buy a plane ticket and for bad weather the plane has to turn back or land somewhere else, it’s the airlines responsibly to get you to your destination at no extra cost, or offer a refund/compensation.

You must be so laid back that you're looking at the sky all day..

Nah, according to slow joe, just pay it again, nowts the bother

I am to be honest but I'm also a realist. There's no way fans should be refunded or offered free entry. If they are it's an incredible gesture from whoever offers it.

I’d imagine if the match was say, away at Man Utd a lot of people who are saying ‘just pay again’ would have a different opinion.

So if Accrington can be treated differently because they’re a small club then don’t complain when the big clubs get away with skullduggery.

Agree with all this.

You must have loads of money that you’re happy just to pay for things twice. I don’t think I’m being unreasonable in expecting to get what you pay for.

I’m not saying we should get free travel. Travel was paid for to get us to and from Accrington, and that’s what we got.

If the game had of been called off before halftime you’d of got your money back, EFL rules stipulate this. As long as clubs stuck to rules there should not be an argument

Interesting checking and seeing that the most indignant on this thread weren’t even at the game on Saturday (and presumably won’t be at the replay either).

You got 70 minutes instead of 90. At a push you could maybe expect a free pie and pint next time to make up for your 20 minutes lost.

If it happened at a big club, I would be demanding free tickets for the replay as the ground being in that condition would be down to incompetence not misfortune.

It’s true if it was a PL or championship club I’d expect more people to want free tickets, because it’s Accrington Stanley people morally expect to pay again, which is understandable also.
I was there and the entry price is not a concern, if I’m prepared to give up another 11 hours of my time plus travel costs, and potentially take a day off work, the £20 is insignificant.
I assume there is a standard practise that Accrington Stanley have to adhere to, which they will.

Not sure why it's a disgrace. Staff need paying, police bill, utilities ect. Some people expect everything for nowt.

whilst there was 70 mins played the game was abandoned. hence those people who went didn't get what they paid for. seems you're happy for the fans to be short changed but no one else.

If that's aimed at me then if I can get a ticket will absolutely be at the rearranged game (not sure what replay you're referring to)

Will the city of London be refunding ticket buyers for the NYE fireworks shizzle if it rains heavily?

Not a great analogy in this day and age and weather is always going to be a limiting factor, but won't stop fireworks as they'll have things in place even if it stops people's enjoyment of the event. You also can't rearrange new years eve.

I was there, still had a good day out and the thought of being short changed has never occurred to me. My comments are my own personal feelings, I don't claim to be speaking on behalf of anyone else.
