Tickets not valid for replay

After the match a guy on the tannoy said keep your tickets as they will be valid for the replay iirc
Dear God, he may have got it wrong. Burn him!

Lets be honest, many go for the day out, you know a few pints with the lads. Throw it all about in the ground, taunt the home supporters with a rendition of "Our garden shed...", sing some songs and watch the match with one eye open. Haway, weve all done it. So which are the one's complaining?

Sounds like my days out to a T

i'd like to see the associated costs for a cinema or theatre to host an extra show as a percentage of their overall costs, when compared to a small football club having to host a professional football league game without taking any money at the gate.

no one is forcing people to go back to the replay. its just an unfortunate event, out of the hands of the owners. its not some massive conspiracy. i'd imagine that Accrington simply can't afford to host a game whilst letting people in for nowt . are people going to ask for their coach money and petrol money back too? and hotel costs?
No one is going to ask for coach or hotel money back, as both of these provided the service for which they were paid.I am sure if the coach broke down half way, or the hotel was unable to provide your room for the night people would quite reasonably expect a full refund.
You are correct people are not forced to go to the re-arranged fixture (nb it is not a replay as you state), which is why admission charges should be refunded. Allowing people to retain their tickets to use for the re-arranged fixture would be a compromise offer, which would be acceptable to a lot of people. The most expensive part of running a club are the wages (staff and players), and the infrastructure (pitch offices training facilities etc.)the cost of which is known at the start of the season and factored into ticket prices. The cost of playing an additional fixture will therefor incur very little extra expense, mainly policing and stewarding, which for a small ground will not be hefty, probably no more than £2 per ticket.
Not refunding ticket money, and charging for the re-arranged fixture (given the pulling capacity of Sunderland) is a complete rip off and a disgrace. Shame on Accrington and hope we never have to play you again

Perhaps Accrington will drop their "full price" to £10 for this game and charge all attendees £10. That way they have kept to their charter and also provided half-price admission for anyone who attends.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but we have to play them at least twice more. The re-arranged game at their place then at the SoL in February.

I'm not blaming them for the game being called off. I'm not blaming anyone for anything.

I'm saying that people might be a bit pissed because it 'appears' that Stanley see this as a way to make some extra money out of the postponement - and that's money comes directly from Sunderland fans.

If they do the game at cost price (policing, staffing etc) then wonderful. If not, then maybe they could just offer us a small gesture, like a pint, for paying twice and coming back.
Perhaps those bastard sunderland fans should boycoutt (sic) all aways in that case, seeing as the home side is making money out of us.

Club should offer free transport

Fans have backed everything they’ve done. Give them something back
Utter nonsense. Why would the club feel obliged to do that? The game went tits up because the weather was shite. If the ref had called it off before kick off, a large number of supporters would have been just as pissed off but wouldn’t be calling for subsidised travel, cheap or free tickets, free pints, etc. I know it’s Christmas but Haway man.

so you're expecting to watch a game-and-three-quarters for the price of a game? only one attempting a rip-off here.......

TBF, the club doesn't HAVE to offer anything.

Althou, knowing Stuart and Charlie, I think they might put on free coaches

Because we have unreal support and it’s a nice gesture

I think they should

Others disagree, that’s fine

Agreed. The club shouldn't have to fund anything.

You disagree, that’s fine.

We do have fantastic away support mate. That is beyond question. As far as I’m concerned the club have repaid this by giving us a team we can get behind, one that’s competing at the top of the league we’re in. I agree it would be a nice gesture. But there are some coming across as if it’s an obligation on the part of our club and or Accrington, neither of which is the case. Whilst we haven’t got a pot to piss in, I would rather the money this would cost, however paltry it may seem was used on something more productive.

I'd be happy if the club dropped off £500 to the local Salvation Army and announced why tbh.

A nice gesture and many local homeless and disadvantaged people would benefit.

I pissed away five times the entry fee on travel and accommodation tbh, a half price ticket would barely raise a smile ...
.... but it would provide a Christmas dinner for some poor bugger.

Seen as tho it's Christmas I'll offer to buy one of the crybaby buntings match tickets for the rearranged fixture. When details come out of the fixture send me proof of your attendance of the abandoned game and I'll transfer you the value of match ticket for the rearranged game. First come first served.
