Kind of - when you run (or do any real prolonged exercise) blood is diverted away from non essential things like digestion to feed the muscles - this means any undigested food in the gut when you set out sits there and gets bounced around which CAN for some people cause GI issues. It can also be linked to dehydration - before the run not during.
