Thoughts on Seelt?

Usual bollocks and no nothings talking shite.

It’s half a mix of was at fault for the goals / isn’t a footballer and would struggle at conference level and other such nonsense.

Some people never learn, just about every player we've signed literally ever gets judged and wrote off after literally one or two games. In Seelt's case even a meaningless under 21 game is being dredged up. I thought he done ok especially as we were pretty much a mess tactically in the second half.

I'm more concerned about Mowbray saying let's stick it in the bin and move on - actually no, we might go down to 10 in a few more games this season. Let's learn from this and have a way of playing that means we are competitive and hard to score against when playing with 10. If Boro went for it this could have been 5 or 6.

Lessons to be learned and not thrown in the bin.

I agree with this, strange comment from Mowbray. It's situations like Saturday where he struggles to find a solution and adapt. We were wide open when what we needed was a disciplined shape to frustrate them whikst looking for breaks where we could, instead there were gaps all over the place.

This
I still think we are reliant on match winning wingers, any time a team snuffs that out we struggle

He tossed it off second half we didn’t even try and frustrate them, it looks like there was no plan
I think three will test him massively on how he sets us up etc

To be fair he did say we need to learn from it as well and reflected on the fact it might happen again.

Yeah he said stick it in the bin. With context, we were already stretched in the middle of the park and then our only actual CM gets a ridiculous red card that you can’t plan for. What else is he supposed to say? “The lads were f***ing shite today?”

Strange responses here, I thought he was absolutely shite. Funny old game, eh?
Haway man, half of the team looked shite yesterday, Clarke, Hume, Neil, Burstow, Ba, all had shite games, Seelt looked comfortable at times & exposed at others. He needs game time, we should be rotating more when the game is in the bag imo.

Yeah he said both, learn from it and stick it in the bin, he also said most teams don't do much work with regards playing with 10 which I was surprised at. I thought playing with 10 would be something you would prep for pretty regularly. Just I've heard stick it in the bin a few times almost as if it doesn't matter.

I’m not going to judge a player on one game who was playing out of position and part of a defence who were all over the shop as a unit second half.

I know the usual crowd have already written him off but he deserves time to play some games, adapt to the league, settle in properly

There is nothing wrong with players getting up to speed in the under 21s, it’s not as easy a league as people think.

Auoichiche, Rigg, Huggins and Bennette have been playing there and looked a cut above. Seelt and Triantis have been playing there and at the moment look ordinary. They more than anyone will benefit and they will ultimately be more ready for the first team.

It shouldn‘t be a question of throwing someone into the first team and hoping they will suddenly step up, important points are at stake. People cite Ekwah as an example but he was used to the 21s at West Ham and also here before he came into the team. I’m hoping Seelt will make it but once he looks better than Crompton and Johnson he will have earned his place and be more confident when he comes in.
