Looked like he didn't know what he was supposed to be doing today. Hadn't a clue where the ball was sometimes, didn't know where to run or who to pass it to, and didn't really put any effort in at all. Stuck up for him in the past but lost my patience with him now and think he needs some time away to clear his head.

I'd always held out hope he'd come good...until today.

At one point there was a loose ball. He ran towards it, stopped, then realised he might make it so resumed running. If he hadn't stopped he would've got there. I haven't seen someone do that since I was playing football at school.

He can't read the game. He has no anticipation. He has no concept of running into space. It beggars belief that he's scored so many goals at international level.

Fox Sport haven't lost faith in him. At half time, Warren Barton said "Jozy WILL score in the second half."

with all the will in the world its not happening , when do we as a club draw the line with persistence , other players seem to be disregard a lot earlier

He's not terrible at holding up play and has put in a few decent assists, but his touch is awful. I can only assume Gus is keeping him around until a decent replacement is secured?

Wasn't he sportsman of the year of some such in the US. We should be able to flog him to one of their teams and at least get our money back. Our problem is who to replace him with

No. Soccer player of the year, which to be fair, he was for the first 9 months of 2013. But not sportsman of the year by any stretch of the imagination.

He's not cutting it at Sunderland, he needs to go. I can't defend him anymore. If you're playing like shit, at least hustle.

Fletcher isn't the answer either.. Fletcher's quite close to being as bad as Jozy this season. If sunderland's gonna play a central striker in a decoy role, they need one who's quick, strong, and has a fast soccer brain.

Sunderland's gonna need a new striker and at least one more midfielder.. the starting 11 is all fine and good, outside of having no good strikers, but depth is needed desperately. Can't expect Ki, Colback, AJ, Borini, etc to stay healthy all year.[DOUBLEPOST=1390684133][/DOUBLEPOST]
flog him back to the dutch, everyone rates him in America, send him back there, f***ing hell i love gus like but im baffled to fuck why hes even on the bench tbh[DOUBLEPOST=1390675021][/DOUBLEPOST]
aye , but hes had canny games, jozy hast had any

not true. jozy's had a few good games, just as many as giaccherini. Giaccherini's equally useless.

Got to think we are either brining Connor back or signing someone. Even bloody Danny Graham would be better. This lad is done. Quicker he finds a new home whether in Europe or the States the better for all concerned at this stage

More goals in his Sunderland career at this point. And more goals per minutes played. Altidore was the big signing of the summer for that position. He's failed miserably.

While he plodded against a non-league side today (I just watched), Ji just scored in his first match back to FCA against his future club BVB.
We are talking about playing for Sunderland this season. A different set-up with different players leads to different outcomes. What matters is the players and the setup this season.

His replacment Aron Johannsson has scored 10 goals in 16 league games so I doubt they're bothered.

When you look at Altidore's AZ stats you begin to wonder...15 goals in his first season, 23 in his second. Good but not outstanding considering it's Holland. Only scored 4 goals in 16 European games. And failed to score in Spain, England and Turkey. Most of his international goals have come against minnows and in friendly games. I think he's built up a bit of a false reputation tbh, you only have to watch him for us for 90 minutes (pick any game of your choice this season) to know that he won't score in this league.

And like 15-16 in all comps. Johannson is a much different player too.. he busts his ass constantly running and he's got a whole different skillset. An upgrade for sure, and when Johannson, Boyd, Donovan, hell maybe Agudelo and even f***ing wondolowski are ahead of JOzy on the USMNT depth chart, he'll have no one to blame but himself.

Jozy's really pissed me off today. :)

If he can't control a ball then it really doesn't matter about what quality opposition he has around him.

I'm getting concerned now by his lack of confidence/technical ability.

hope he comes through though but it is looking less likely every week.
