imo carroll had a half decent game...considering his first full cap etc..etc..

this was only a friendly...a chance for fabio to take a look at some younger players..ie henderson carroll & gibbs..

had this been a qualifier i doubt very much wether carroll or the other two would have started.

agreed. carroll has ability and in a couple of years at prem level, then he could be a starter in games where points are at stake for safc. same for henderson as wellou

freudian slip about point for "safc" i meant england

He was as good as all the rest - which was shite.

Had a couple of flickons (some off his shoulder..) but that was about it. Also squandered possession a few times and I can only think he had his boots on the wrong feet?

Was never given any of the types of balls that Newcastle rely on him for on the whole, and thats his whole game fucked.

I thought that he was one of the better players, but the tactics were gash. Carroll showed because of the preponderance of hoofed high balls.

spent a lot of time adjusting his hair.

not ready for this level yet. needs to perform at prem level for at least a season

Your obviously as thick as a castle wall lad, as I said he had 70 mins on the pitch and done fuck all, Crouch had 30 mins on the pitch and changed the game for England, what part of that don't you understand ???

I understand your comments (despite the fact you cant make them without obscenities) But what you say isnt worth the effort of reading it. You , on the otrher hand, have difficulty in seeing the point of my original post. Lots of posters cant see past his team. You are still one of them. Got it now?

Carroll done okay, put himself about a bit and won a few headers, which is pretty much all he could do as England played a succession of hoofs from the back.

For all the Mags play a very 'direct' (long ball) game, they at least allow their midfielders time to get forward, so that Carroll's flick ons actually mean something and some of their players can get to the second ball. The way England played it Carroll would flick it on and France would just easily mop up the second ball.

He's also a lot quicker than he looks like he'd be, but we didn't try to use that or get the ball to his feet. It was just aimless launch after aimless launch.

As I say, he had a half-decent debut, but (as with Jordan) he could have had a better one if England weren't so utterly primitive.
