I still thought we'd be signing players but everything seems to be on hold.

That's how it looks everything has been put on hold, which is a bit of a concern if i am honest, as i was hopeful that pre season would for once go smoothly, seems until this takeover is resolved nothing moves, however i maybe proven wrong next week so who really knows.

But you can see what he is worth tho and it's not £50m and you can find out his personal wealth and it is around £8.5m.
If you're pulling that from a Google search then it is also definitely wrong.

The Forbes or Times rich lists almost just make up numbers compared to the real wealth people have. Considering Donald doesn't even get that high up, any small papers or sites trying to estimate his wealth will be well off

You can't. There's no site accessible via Google that says how much someone is worth. It might know the value of businesses in someone's name, but if Donald has sold a stake in a business for £40m and it's in his bank, no one would know. It's been said many time that the EFL stated he needed to show he had £50m in accessible money before they'd let him buy us, and he showed it. He's worth well more than £8.5m. Iirc he even fronted some/ all of the money for Grigg, he's hardly going to be giving half of his accumulated fortune away! Ha'way @kildaremackem , this is one for you!

Show me a link to the efl quote fella........... or you are just repeating what someone has said and thats hardly reliable is it?

Repeating what Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven have said (numerous times)
There you go as I know he wouldn't be arsed to look for it as it would prove him wrong.....

At his first press conference on Monday, Donald said: “I know I’m supposedly worth £8m but somehow I’ve managed to find £50m in my piggybank and the EFL have seen that, so no problem.”

Good work. Although I think he'll reply with "I asked for EFL quotes"
Maybe he thinks Donald is a liar, maybe he doesn't. I don't know

Theres not a link to it on the EFL site or anything because the amount you have to show them varies depending on the financial position that the club you're trying to buy is in, there's not an amount that's set in stone.

Both Donald and Methven have regularly mentioned it on the various podcasts though, and I'd say they're fairly reliable, unless you think they're just randomly making it up for the crack. Most recent time I saw it mentioned was https://www.a-love-supreme.com/sing...sent-And-Future-ALS-Interview-Charlie-Methven when Methven said "The EFL looked at it and said we wouldn’t be able to do it (those figures). That's why they insisted Stewart show them £50m". I'm comfortable enough that it's reliable

I have a friend who’s father in law is exceptionally good friends with Donald. When he was at Eastleigh he built them a basically new stadium, my mates father in law’s business built it. When Don took us over I did try and find out more about him and my mate and his father in law both said you won’t find anything definitive, you can be certain he has more money than is publicly known about.

With the EFL line he and Charlie both say I’m confident he’s got that £50M plus. His business is also in insurance, under FCA rules he will require an insane amount of money to cover their obligations should they go bust, if he didn’t Bridle wouldn’t exist.

Aye, if that's what he's after there won't be a link, the EFL ask for different amounts depending on how bad the financial situation is at the club, plus it's seen as a private thing so they're never likely to publicise it. I certainly think the two owners saying it is reliable enough though, it's not like it's just something written by some knacker on here that we're taking as gospel!

Isn't the company worth around £1b tho? I don't know what his personal wealth is but I'm sure it will be more than SD tho

Aye the company is very successful tbh. He’s reportedly worth about 50m personally according to public records. I’d happily have him on board as an investor. The more the merrier if they have the clubs best interest at heart.

I need some info about some aspect of the club - I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms.
Well you're on here for a start...

Pity we couldn't have 99 more investors with the same wealth, with 1%each..

Hes only worth £8.5 ish
ertainly not! the 8.5m number is the paper value of some of the companies he is involved in..the paper value-the guy who wrote it knows nowt..what they have done is..when a company issues shares..there is a nominl price..say 5p shares..but that desnt mean the shares are worth 5p..so the 8.5m is just a fictional number..

why do we need any owner worth £500m..? it doesnt cost that.

stewrat soriginal fortune was made from an insurance company called hastings..he was involved in fouding it at quite a young age and worked in the finance department..they floated it on the stock exchange for £1bn.stewarts takeout was a fraction of that..somewhere between £40m and £50m, but there would have been accumulated profits before the float..and he has reinvested the profits in three businesses,,...bridle insurance,..bridle leasing..which is his biggest operation with 20,000 cars..abd the propert business.the latter of which has operations in spain.
