This potentially getting promoted 'too soon' debate...

For me the main difference between this and the Reid season, is that last time we had been in and around the top 3 for most of the season and losing at Wembley was ultimately a disappointment. Players were determined not to let that happen again. This time we’ve snuck in at the last minute so it’s all a bonus compared to what we’d maybe planned/expected for this season. Might as well take the chance while it’s there.

No side that goes up and doesn’t invest will ever stay up in the PL. Burnley would be lucky to get 15 points if they didn’t buy anyone and went with the same squad, so for me the too early argument is stupid - as it won’t be this 11 we’re playing next season anyway. Not to mention the fact we aren’t guaranteed automatic next season if we don’t go up.

In fact this reminds me of those who were saying relegation from the PL would be a good thing, and that definitely went really well didn’t it?
How much have Brighton for example spent over the years? They just have a quality recruitment set up. Spending 20/30m on a player doesn't guarantee anything.

Didn’t mention investing on transfer fees specifically: their wage bill is about 400% what it was in their promotion campaign. You need to invest to progress, but you don’t need to spend £100m on players to do so

I'm waiting for those saying 09 isn't good enough for the prem, he like others will take the challenge on head first and relish it, that's how they have developed this season despite the injury setbacks and managers leaving, the only thing to fear is fear itself (and Haaland if we go up 😆)
As much as people seem to think Haaland is some kind of unplayable freak of nature, the likes of which we have never before seen, it is important to note that as yet he has not faced O'Nien.

Went well for Fulham and Burnley.

It's a load of shite.
We were comfortably top half under Reid when we went up. Same as Keanos team.
Even when hull got promoted, I'm sure they finished top half.

It seems to be the 2nd season teams get found out.
A couple of strong additions and keep this squad together I think we'd stay up.

The perfect antidote to Haaland is Gooch in a back 3.... The long haired scandi won’t get a look in

I’m pretty sure both of them bought some players when they went up, such as Chris Wood
I'm talking about relegation. Ain't so bad when you've got good, smart people at the helm. Burnley have went from Brexit FC to a modern side, they have a good chance of staying up next year with the right recruitment. Fulham went up and spent 200 million, realised it was f***ing stupid and changed their approach. Learning curves.

Imagine O9 sliding into Haaland and it not even effecting him.

Ah right - I don’t think relegation helped them at all. They’d be in a better position now had they not been relegated a few years ago. But likewise it doesn’t need to destroy the club like ours did, you are right

Majority of teams who go up struggle it’s been the same for years and years, it’s beating the drop and building that’s a challenge.

Do I want us to go up 100% yes would we struggle yes but that’s the challenge and these lads love a challenge.

Ha'way the lads.
Like Rotherham and Wigan in this year's Championship, if we were to go up, I think we're the best placed / least investment required squad out of us, Burnley and Sheffield United, in terms of not coming straight back down.

Promotion means we should be able to keep the squad together, hopefully make some quality additions, puts vital funds into the club.

So we may get the odd battering in the premier league, a lot of teams do
I reckon if we lose in the playoffs the squad will see where we are headed and that we nearly did it this year so most will give it another crack. I think there will be no exodus maybe not even any, that team spirit will help. If we had finished mid table we might have lost 2 or 3.

Hull’s best ever Premier League finish was 16th and we finished 15th in Keane’s full Premier League season.

It can often be the second season that’s the problem though. Sheffield United are a recent example of this.

The money the club will get by spending just one season in the premier can massively change the club for the better. We are in good hands now so I'm sure we'll spend it in the right way...
Exactly this, bring in quality young uns on long term contracts, and even if we do get relegated, with the parachute payments, it will stand the club in good stead for years.

Chances are Clarke, Roberts and Stewart will be off if we don’t. Amad won’t be back either if we don’t go up.
This I fear the team will get picked apart if we don't go up and we might not be back in this position for a while again .
Haway the lads

Earlier this season there was a leeds supporter interviewed and he said winning promotion was far better than actually being in the premier league, other than Quinn and Philips era, and odd runs here and there, normally with either Defoe or bent, I much prefer the excitement of challenging rather than being cannon fodder. That said we’re that close I absolutely want to go up, let’s see how it goes.
