It would be a monumental mistake.

If he's sold it will be because he wants away.

No, he doesn't do it every game, but then who does?

£11m on a couple of others? That gets you two Craig Gardners.

When you get lucky and buy a gem for £6m you do everything you can to kep hold of him.

For 11m you could possibly have Fletcher and Moses/Hoillett etc. Maybe not as talented as Sess but would that make us a better overall team? 100% in my humble.

but if we get a decent bid for Sessengon I'd sell him. I'm on about 11m plus.

On his day he is great but we can't build our team around him as he is far too inconsistent.

Crap again today and too often makes the wrong decision.

I think we could become a better team by selling him and using the money on a couple of others.

Loads of abuse will no doubt ensue but he just doesn't do enough, often enough.

Said exactly this on the way home from the match, just not consistent enough, if we could get anywhere near 12 million I'd take it and see what MON could do with the cash.

If we sell him we might as well just accept bottom 6 next year.

Him and Jimmy McClean are our ONLY creative players other than that we have random cloggers.

You cant just keep selling players like.

If we plan on playing with 1 man up front forever, then keep him. He can't be used in any formation with 2 front men.

He's worth what someone is prepared to pay for him, same as any other player. I reckon between £10m and £13m (ish).

How much it would cost to replace him is another matter entirely.

You must admit ideally though we'd sign Fletcher (or someone else as I don't particularly rate him) and Moses/Hoillett and keep Sess?

That's called building a quality squad, something usually sadly lacking at SAFC.

Over to Short I suppose.

Selling one of our best players would send a dreadful signal though, both to decent, ambitious players we currently have (e.g. McClean) and prospective signings who are decent and ambitious.

I'm fairly sure he can.

We won at a canter at Bolton earlier in the season where he played on the left of a 4-4-2.

I'd personally replace him with a striker, we have the wingers and CM's to cope, we just need two starting class strikers.

I would love to keep him if we were able to buy a load of other players of his ability and give him the room and time to show us more of his ability. That's a pipe dream. We don't have the finances for that and instead of playing a formation that is purely for his benefit I believe that we could flog him and use the money to make us a better all round team.

The problem is we don't have enough people showing for the ball when he has it. Nor do we have many players (often any players) driving forward into the box. Bendtner tends to spend most of the time on the wing, Campbell stuck to the wing which is fine but how many crosses did he deliver into the area? How many times did he beat his man?

When Cattermole and Colback are in midfield we also have two players that don't tend to get forward to try and score. We need more attacking threats for Sessegnon to really shine. The lad is great and I'd hate to lose him. £11m?! That would be cheap for a player with his ability.

I tend to agree with this. I don't think Campbell is the answer but i think Sess would prefer to have someone like Campbell running the channels in front of him and creating space for others. We definitely lack movement just now and i think that's partially down to the way Bendtner plays. He frustrates me as he is a good footballer but him and Sess together is not working often enough.

£11m for Sess would be daylight robbery imo - would only let him go for closer £18m

Good point and to answer:
We wouldn't be able to replace him. For £10-£13m we might as well try desperately to hang onto him.

id have victor moses too play along side him and make a good playmakeing side

That's Bolton though, they were terrible back then. He needs to be playing in a pushed up attacking midfield role, he's most effective there. If we sold him we would cope, especially if we did bring in someone like Moses or Hoilett.
