This 'club being tight' nonsense.

How did the club accrue debts of £93M? What and how, are we spending £17.1M OVER our break even?

Those are the two things I want to know. Clearly they are having a huge impact on the club.
They are taking Rodwell fee over 5 years for example. Spend 2M each year plus wages. Thus 2M off this years budget spent.....before new players....

Those stats should be kept close at hand for whenever our support is questioned. Is there another team in the land who would have our followings with such little to shout about?

Our support is absolutely staggering all things considered.

If that's the case then we must still be paying for f***ing George McCartney or something for the figures to be that f***ing high!

It's a shambles and the figures don't lie. Other teams are better run than us and have more margin to invest in quality players. I do think that our location and lack of recent success has a lot to do with having to overpay for mediocre players but it's more than just that especially given that football has become a global brand.

We just don't attract gems like some of the other clubs at the right price. Even if those gems play for a season and then leave, they help the team for the season that they are with us and we get a huge mark up when we sell them which can be used to buy new players. Southampton is a great example!

We've been firefighting for so long now and neglected to plan long term.

The way out of that unfortunately is not to cut spending and get relegated when there's big money on the way that could help with paying things off.

The first club outside the top six that fucks off FFP will get points deducted. We're like a dog shitting in the background of the PLs expensive promotional video, they'd love to batter us for a violation and get rid.

Too get out of this mess and never ending relegation battles we have two options:

Option One - Short invests some serious money and buys his way out of this mess.
Option Two - We take a chance on some of our U21 players and start giving them a chance, hope a couple of them come good and reinvest the money when we sell them, commonly known as the Southampton model.

All evidence we have to date is that Sunderland as a club are not prepared to do either of those options, so we will just continue in this cycle of relegation battles and eventually we will drop.

I think you're right here, once an untrendy falls foul they'll come down like a tonne of bricks.

I think you're oversimplifying that. We need to do a bit of everything.

When you consider the likes of Kygorikis, Dosenna and the likes I refuse to believe we haven't got someone in the U21s who couldn't do a similar mediocre job than what we`ve probably paid 20 odd k a week for.

And if not, then why not?

I've been banging this drum for years mate, I don't believe we don't have young'uns better than some of the shit that regularly turns out for us. We've got a player here(Watmore) who was voted best U21 player in the entire U21 league last season and he seems further away than ever of actually been blooded into the team, now if he can't get near team what hope have the rest of them got? I'll tell you, absolute zero. Oh and if I hear one more person banging on about experience I think I'll f***ing scream, West Ham had a 16 year old on the other day, last season Villa played a 16 year old against us when they battered us at our place.

Our main problem seems to be not unearthing any genuine talent that we can utilise for a few seasons then sell on at a healthy profit. We buy dross then give it away for nowt to get it off the wage bill which ultimately makes us even worse off, it's like someone standing in a hole digging while another fella behind him is filling it with shit.
Top and bottom of it. We bring no kids through (very low wages to start) and no saleable assets to sell at a huge profit (any profit) and then sign players (on massive wages) who have been at big clubs coming to the end of their careers (no resale value) here for an easy 3/4 years having made their fortune at the top clubs. End up being released and costing £10m +. in wages. Brown getting another year for example. Complete waste of money.

Our attitude to blooding young uns is rank. Remember O'Neill not even filling the bench?

Yes, I remember that, we've been terrible at it for years. You can't even say young lads are failing here because none of them are getting a look in for anyone to form an opinion on them. If you were a parent and your kid had a pick of clubs, the last place you'd be bringing them would be Sunderland.
