Things that will forever haunt you from our League 1 era?

The white seats in the corners, i hate them, should be red.
Bloody awful refs.
The thugs that played in the opposition defence.
SD and CM opportunistic parasite chancers.
Santori who seems to have done nothing but managed to get some shares.

Must say it looks shite now. May have been a better idea to make the lower tier of the lower bowl white seats with red in the upper part to stop them going pink in the sun

Although knowing the SOL they’d probably somehow still turn pink

I’d come over and change them for reds again for a free pint and a burger again like

Thinking back, the first 8 months weren’t too bad. We had the embarrassment of entering the FA Cup in the 1st round, but the Checkatrade trophy run sort of covered up the cracks.

Things really turned shit after the Coventry game though. Not only were their fans a group of cowardly twats, but the first time the worry of spending more time in that shit league became reality.

The rage I was containing just standing there watching the crowd leave after the Charlton play off final. Fuck I hated the world at that moment. Wanted to be a a desert island with not another sole in sight.
Leaving the ground at 3-0 down at Bolton, only the 2nd time I've left early in 53 years.

I’ve never watched that back. I can remember feeling numb when they scored and then just walking out on the final whistle.

We hardly spoke a word on the train home.

Being there was bad enough...but the Covid grounds closure was awful. Having to watch The Lads playing poor football against crap opposition in empty grounds.
Ghost football in every respect.

That match against Fleetwood when they scored in the first 10 minutes and went on to provide the most extreme display of time wasting anytime, anywhere. Only 8 minutes added on I think. Should have been 15. Max Power scoring an equaliser in the last minute and us rejoicing like we had won the league.. Joey Bartons smug comments afterwards. Horrible night.

I remember getting off me sickbed and watching the playoff final v Charlton at the Village Hotel in North Tyneside, in a room full of baying mags. How bad can this get, thought I? But it got worse.

Stood in the old fanzone tent a salmon panted methhead walked in trying to be nice to people Then Loovens and ozturk walked past after doing their meet and greet bit surreal

None of the above should have been anywhere near our club.

Celebrating like we'd won the world cup after equalising in the last minute against Walsall..... Walsall.

Class game that, Max had a right streak of reds around that time though so made our games a lot harder. The Walsall fans were some of the nicest but the area was f***ing bleak.

Methvens whole Tory persona and mocking Sunderland as Brexitland when it was approx 52-48, reflective of the rest of England.
Ironic given his views on the subject:

"Dragon Advisory founding partner and member of the group Economists for Brexit, Charlie Methven, said the MPs' call was "encouraging", as "far from being an economic benefit, the Single Market is an old-fashioned protectionist Customs Area". "

Pretty much my memory of that final and all marra. I was sat up in the top tier near the halfway line. Sat for a few minutes watching their fans a few feet away celebrating like mad and being completely gutted. Thousands of us in near silence, (bar the occasional sweary shout), tramping down stairwell after stairwell to get out of the stadium. The journey back down Wembley way and on the tube was similar. Just utter deflation. Grim.

Yea the Refs were a disgrace. Cant remember the game but didn’t we concede a goal after a lad kicked the ball out our keepers hands? Or blocked a goal kick? Which you cant do obviously.
