Things that will forever haunt you from our League 1 era?

Reading the Jack Baldwin thread brought back some horrific memories from League 1…

Jack Ross not making a sub or changing the shape at half time during the 4-5 game against Coventry.
Signing Lee Burge after watching him in that first half against us.
Mandron’s equaliser against us just before Covid.
Grigg’s miss against MK Dons from inside the 6 yard box.

Some very bleak times during our League 1 spell.

I think I’d give up on football if we were ever relegated again.

Amazing how far we’ve come as a team/club on the field in such a short space of time.
5-1 at Rotherham, compounded by some of our fans singing a song that embarrassed me more than the team's inept performance.

Managing to drop out of the top 6 the week before the league was shut down due to covid. I’m still pissed off about it now. Teams tactically voting that they couldn’t afford to play on for 10 more games, but could afford to play on should the play offs go ahead. 😡

Celebrating like we'd won the world cup after equalising in the last minute against Walsall..... Walsall.
Why would we not? An equaliser's an equaliser, irrespective of the level we find ourselves at. If you were at the match did you not cheer?

Surely better to go light and show some passion than the polite ripples of motionless applause you see on the telly at The Etihad and Anfield...

I watched it at home and I was fist pounding and happy as Larry at the time. But as far as things that will haunt me, look back at that video now, I wouldn't say its embarrassing, embarrassing is the wrong word. I guess if how far we had fell could be encapsulated by a moment, scrapping a draw and being well rattled by and no disrespect to them of course but Walsall. I dont ever want to the club to be in a position where a draw there would cause delirium, it should cause annoyance.

That first game down there against Charlton, I know we ended up winning but seeing a centre back partnership of Alim Ozturk and Glenn Loovens struggle to walk without snapping a hamstring was depressing. Was like an over-40s backline.
That was an unbelievably slow and immobile backline. Loovens was the slowest player I've ever seen, he could not jump an inch either. He was just absolutely finished.

Flip side! I liked seeing some of the younger players coming through in league one and knowing from the first time of watching them they were going on to bigger things. Jamaal Lowe and Aribo really spring to mind here! There's definitely value in players from that league and we should always keep a look out!

Losing 0-6.
To be honest, that was the best moment in our League 1 History ... we are where we are now, because of that game and the fact we sacked Lee Johnson on the Sunday and replaced him with Alex The Snake Neill

PS I was there!
