Things that will forever haunt you from our League 1 era?

Reading the Jack Baldwin thread brought back some horrific memories from League 1…

Jack Ross not making a sub or changing the shape at half time during the 4-5 game against Coventry.
Signing Lee Burge after watching him in that first half against us.
Mandron’s equaliser against us just before Covid.
Grigg’s miss against MK Dons from inside the 6 yard box.

Some very bleak times during our League 1 spell.

I think I’d give up on football if we were ever relegated again.

Amazing how far we’ve come as a team/club on the field in such a short space of time.
That crap 4 days losing 5-1 at Rotherham and 3-0 at Sheff Wed .

For me it was the turgid football we played. We were competently unremarkable for so long. Even when we won the play-offs, there was very little evidence of even the thought of taking a buckle and swashing with it, never mind doing it.

The 4-0 away loss to Portsmouth in torrential downpour a couple year back.
Most miserable day that I can remember.

If it were made into a film, it would be called "Nightmares on Keir Hardie Way"

I was prepared for the shit refs and poor standard of football, but the amount of gamesmanship, play acting and time wasting was the eye-opener for me.

Methven and Donald
Methven
MacFadzean
Grigg
Referees
Parkinson playing for draws and being chuffed if we managed it
Parkinson thinking we were better off eithout McGeady
Playing U21 teams in the Checkatrade/Papa Johns etc. I hope we never enter it again, including U21.

I have no real issue with most of the opposition teams and fans and won't look down my nose at smaller, more ramshackle grounds, they are part of what football is all about.

There were some knackers among the support of Portsmouth in particular but you get them everywhere, just in greater abundance there.

The play off final had a magic and real sense if rebirth and to be there with one of my lads was special.

ps Methven, pure scum
