Things Brits think nothing of but considered rude to other countries?

But funnily enough they didnt mind using them videoing my granddaughter on the Xmas night train to Lap Land from Helsinki . She did look very cute and typified the childhood experience in her Frozen gear probably no harm meant but haway ..they also seem to have a nasty habit of not moving left or right to pass you but just like stopping dead for you to choose ...weird .

Somewhat of a cultural divide. If you are perceived as older or superior then traditon has them be subservient.

Point in fact one of my students was getting married and she invited her boss to the wedding. Because her boss was exec level her fiancé had to invite someone from his company of equal level who he had never met, so as not to shame the other boss by bringing someone lower.

Love the country, but some traditions vastly outdated.

Even pronunciation depends on gender. My mate Andy 6ft 5, blonde hair, blue eyed surfer type hpt a lit of female attention. But couldn't understand why when he spoke japanese people laughed. He was using female intonation so essentially czme off as camp as hell

When I was working in a factory I was told there were some Japanese visitors coming to visit, I was told to avoid eye contact which I thought was odd but I respected it went along but I think there are a few things the japs find rude, something to do with food, eating while talking other something.

Seriously, there's f*ck all worse in life than catching a Jap's Eye.

Dad worked at Cole’s Cranes in the 70s. Came home one night and told me about some Japanese visitors they had. Coles served them Japanese and traditional english dishes at lunchtime in the canteen, curry (they thought that was traditional Japanese at the time) and spotted dick with custard. Visitors poured the spotted dick and custard onto the curry and proceeded to wolf it down.

We had American students staying with us once when I was a teen. They were keen to try British food so my Mam did them a full English breakfast. She put jams in the middle of the table for their toast. They were interested in the lemon curd as they'd never seen it before, then spread it on their fried bread and dipped it in their egg yolk. They thought it was amazing and asked her to write the lemon curd recipe down to take home.

I don’t know if this is a me thing or a British thing. When i’m done with a conversation I just walk off (I don’t mean if they’re still talking). But once the conversation has ended I don’t need all the “see ya later” or “bye for now” I just walk off.

My lass said she thought I was rude when we first met (at work) but I’ve never even noticed it until she pointed it out

farting out loud at work

farting out loud at work

Mad really that people find farting rude considering how unhealthy it is to keep them in

We think we’re intelligent creatures, yet we make ourselves ill because of the concept of politeness
