"There's only one Keano"!!!...

We were struggling near the bottom at the time, lost a few games on the bounce and were thrashed by Bolton. According to Keane himself Short rang him and asked something about him moving to the Neast. He took the hump, rang Kennedy his solicitor/agent and said something like "Get me out of here".
He told Short to fuck off over the phone when he questioned how many days he was at the training ground, he admitted himself he should have asked for a meeting instead, there was a meeting arranged but before that Quinn informed him the Short wanted him out which is when Keane contacted Kennedy

I think the days of having anyone like Keano coming in and lifting the place immediately have gone with this ownership and structure. For the record I don’t trust any of them and in particular Speakman. At the and of the day we are just fans who live and breathe the club that’s all we are. It seems to me that a mid table championship side is best we can hope for now and it also seems the owners will be happy with that, oh plus developing some young player like Rossco and selling them on for a nice profit. Would love to be proved wrong but I can’t see it.

What a wanker AN turned out to be but replacing him with Mowbray smacks of mediocrity to me, but who am I to say I’m only a fan of 50 odd years. I don’t trust any of them at all

Would’ve 100% had him before Neil but after he turned it down I think it shows his heart probably wouldn’t be 100% in it. I still love Keane but he’s probably in his comfort zone now with the punditry getting well paid and is very good at it so can’t say I blame him in a way.

Yep. He’s very good at playing the pantomime villain and is very well paid.

I posted this back in Jan, but when we approached him after we sacked Ross, we were shocked at the wages he wanted - especially given all the “unfinished business” nonsense.

At least he’s now honest and admits he doesn’t fancy management anymore

Not a cat in hells chance.
Give over, he's raking it in being a pundit, why would he want to come back to management.
This.

He will pundit for another ten years or so on Sky and that’ll be him sorted employment wise.

Same as Sounness has done (he couldn’t be arsed working with arsehole owners and the stresses of modern management anymore, much more cushy working for Sky…can’t blame him tbf)

He’s even admitted how comfortable he is doing it for the rest of his working days recently (said it to Neville in an interview AFTER the fiasco in February iirc).
