Makes you laugh some of the managers names tossed about.

Look at the owners.
Then look at speakman.

No one with an ounce of credibility will work with speakman.
Speakman won’t employ anyone with character or strength.

Settle for mediocrity or an unknown name.

Would’ve 100% had him before Neil but after he turned it down I think it shows his heart probably wouldn’t be 100% in it. I still love Keane but he’s probably in his comfort zone now with the punditry getting well paid and is very good at it so can’t say I blame him in a way.

Replace a manager who legged it with another one who scurried off at the first sign of trouble. Cracking idea.
I'd love to know where people get the idea that last time he did a runner and left us in the shit, he only left after falling out with short and was told by Quinn that short was going to get rid of him so he left, the full story is in Keanes book and has also been confirmed by Quinn.
He never liked Short and he's said he would never have left if it hadn't been for short but he also states that he thought they we going to have a meeting to sort out their differences but when he was told off Quinn it was to get the sack he didn't see any point turning up.
I was all for him last time however this time although I'd love him back, under this current regime I really don't think it would work.
I think as a manager of a club with money to spend with a top coach beside him it could work , he needs full control and that's not going to happen here unfortunately

I can’t see what would have changed since last time for Keane to be an actual option.

Interesting that the Irish Independent have gone with it mind as they’re normally quite well informed

That’s the spirit

We were struggling near the bottom at the time, lost a few games on the bounce and were thrashed by Bolton. According to Keane himself Short rang him and asked something about him moving to the Neast. He took the hump, rang Kennedy his solicitor/agent and said something like "Get me out of here".

Neil left us 5th in the championship, people need to get over themselves and accept speakman is actually doing a decent job.
