Is Sunniside gardens that nice open area further up on the same street as Sam’s Bar before you get to the cobbled street around the corner? Nice little area if so, but we drove past in the middle of the afternoon a couple of months ago and there was a bloke who looked out of it (clearly either homeless or one of the Norfolk Hotel lot) pissing against one of the garden concrete walls. There was families walking and driving past as well, but I doubt he even knew what day it was nevermind who was passing. It’s a strange part of the town, the buildings and streets are generally a lot nicer than the rest of the town but there’s loads of down and outs, as you say they need shifted out the city centre.

To be fair to them, the homeless in the north USA and the west can either freeze to death or move to california for the winter. Add to this that California have a large number of Veterans hospitals and quite a lot of homeless were in Vietnam or the gulf, it makes sense. They just need Chod zones to accommodate them.

Truth is picking on the homeless is futile, dealing with homelessness and poverty would be a start. We do need more public toilets, problem is many are simply a meeting place for addicts, youths etc. They are anonymous spaces and need to be manned.
