Their penalty

totally agree, it's the only way to stamp out this blatant cheating and improve the game. It's funny though it's like it's accepted and part of the game.

Yeah that is the problem it’s become the normal and accepted, in any other sport cheating to that level would be condemned and criticized within the sport itself, where it football it’s accepted and it clearly should not be imo.

I'm not fishing at all. People on here are way over the top about referees and decisions that seemingly go againt us.

It was no more blatant cheating than when Clarke went over in the box in the second half.
There should be action taken against the player and the club, as long as no action taken problems will remain
It's not West Brom's fault the penalty was given.

There's contact. O'Nien sticks his leg in where he probably shouldn't. Two ex-pros in the studio agreed with the decision. It's a penalty. Move on.

They do mate fully agree, that is why action needs taken after games by the powers of be to stop it, and make ref job easier as hard enough without having to take the blame for cheating players.

So how come we didn’t get a pen for that then? Their pen was blatant cheating & a bad decision by the ref.

Personally with the benefit of replay did not think a pen at all.

The bigger picture to me is refs incorrectly take the blame when players get away with cheating which is unfair imo.

Best way to get rid of cheating is to watch games afterwards and if proved punishments should be given, otherwise players and clubs will continue to do it and refs continue to unfairly get the blame.

It’s getting worse every season and needs stopping

I dinnar, I thought he maybes should have.

It wasn't cheating man. He goes down under a challenge. Maybe a bit theatrical but it's not cheating. He doesn't dive and there's contact.

 I've just watched it again like and it is softer than I thought yesterday.

Ya give a ref a decision to make though and that's what happens. It's not as if we haven't benefitted from soft decisions before.

It's all swings and roundabouts as far I'm concerned.

I'm more upset about what led to the penaltly. Problems of our own making. We've got the ball, we're in nee bother, couple of loose passes under a bit of a press and it all gans to cock.

From the ref's line of sight it looks stonewall.

Wouldn’t have been overturned by VAR.

Ref was standing closer than the lino it seemed to me.

apparently it was the lino who gave it not the Ref, I think VAR would have overturned it or at least ask the ref to look at it IMO..
Yeah… fair enough. It was (even by today’s standards) marginal. Having given it, I think there was minimal contact, so I thought that the decision would have stood. All hypothetical scenarios! For once, it didn’t cost us.

I thought it was soft but ONien did catch him with his trailing leg and it was a bit clumsy on his behalf imo.
I agree, it was very soft, but we gave the ref a decision to make when there was no need to . Cirkins pass was shite, and 09 probably should have stood him ( the WBA player) up.
I thought the BA challenge earlier looked much more of a pen ?

Yeah definitely agree there is a lot of posters on here who forget the soft pens we get and we always seem to be on the wrong end of decisions according to them.

When in reality we get good and bad decisions just like any other club

It's disgusting mate

It’s crazy to think in a sport like golf for instance the culture is to call fouls on yourself when you playing for some prizes worth over a million.

Yet in football it’s cheat as much as you can!

I am not saying football should be honest as golf.

However it’s ridiculous how a culture has now developed and getting worse every year where rolling around as if you have been killed or obvious cheating is clearly accepted within the sport itself!

Ref points pretty quickly looking at the highlights like. But who knows, nor cares given the result.

Golfers play for themselves. Footballer's carry the hopes of thousands and somegimes millions of people on their backs. Ya do owt to win for your team.

If it was ther other way round, everyone on here would be saying it was a penalty.

I know it means nowt but it’s not accepted by me. I will always call it out whether it’s our players or opposition.

Having looked at it a few times there defo a pause by the Ref before he points at the spot..
